Absolutely not. All involved in this film should be held accountable for exploiting Marilyn in an absolutely AWFUL way. RIP Marilyn, you did not deserve this depiction of you.

@@shutupandeatasmr4498 I agree.The movie over stepped on many accounts in regards of decency towards a late talented actress. As an MM fan myself ,I felt that she was stripped away of the diginity in the script. She brought Marilyn to life compared to previous actresses who played her.Great actress in a badly made movie.

I don’t really see the point, other than giving Ana de Armas an award 🥇 for her talent. Other than that, nice rack? I guess. I understand it was supposed to portray Marilyn’s downfall like her mothers when she was ill & nude. But….this movie wasn’t as deep as I thought it was supposed to be. Maybe that wasn’t even the intention behind it, and I’m looking for deeper meaning where it should have been. Meh. 14 min standing ovation….I would have stood, clapped, and left quickly for some pizza or anything else. I was not shocked or alarmed as much by the movie as ask…what’s the point of this? Then there be: no answer. Her using the word Daddy so many times was very odd too. While she was known to do that, it more-so exploited in context of her being an orphan than portray any longing for love. The “longing” portion of that was lost in Ana’s 5 year old impression of the word “daddy”. It really lost me in her entire character, both Marilyn and Ana. She became a topless 5 year old and it was fuckin’ gross to witness. I guess it does go to show, those are the women Hollywood has always liked. Topless “5” year olds. It’s probably the portion a lot of men (like that) would say are the sexiest scenes of the movie. Scary.

Not really. Much of her fame has come from her looks/youth as much as her acting (some will argue more so). Even the likes of Julia Roberts and Angelina Jolie have less prominent roles as they age. Bright flames run out of gass sooner. It's more of a shame that she didn't get to this level ten years sooner.

She's absolutely lovely. Not really interested in Monroe, or biopics in general, but de Armas has been great in the roles I've seen (Blade Runner, Knives Out, Gray Man, etc.)

Joyce Carol Oates wrote a brilliant novel (as usual). I pray that this honors her great book, "Blonde." It looks good, must say. The book really gets across Marilyn's fragility, and the root causes of her life issues: her tragic relationship with her mother, and her toxic fame.
@szdesiree2 жыл бұрын
We only know so much of Marilyn’s fragility and strength due to her short life. This novel and movie is nothing more than a snuff interpretation of a woman everyone is dying to understand and will never have the privilege to.

Ana De Armas deserves and OSCAR!!! Out of the dozens of actresses who have played Marilyn, I used to think that Poppy Montgomery was the best, but Ana De Armas has dethroned any of the past actresses, as far as looks, personality, and voice. The movie “Blonde” was such a dark, fictitious rendering of her life (Much artistic license from the director and writer), and De Armas had you completely sucked into the character.
