Ana will get many awards for Blonde. But the film has some really dark elements that distract from Ana's incredible performance
@LarissaFay
@LarissaFay 2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes those dark elements need to be seen. It is still a common thread in today's society, people just don't speak about it and/or have NO support system to help report these crimes. Which is a choice or out of their control. I do feel like that magic she created on stage, on screen and in any interview or photoshoot seemed in part an escape from trauma. Society just made it impossible for her to escape that Iconic figure Marilyn Monroe, to self care... self heal and be able to be Norma Jeane in peace. It's tragic and I can fully empathize, and understand in part her struggles. 'Blonde' is a unapologetic Fictionalised Biographical perspective on her life. Ana did an outstanding job, I agree.

No matter what how cruel and unjust some reviews can be, her acting, her performance is above and beyond any doubts, she is an Star; the work of the whole team that make possible this movie is so close to perfection that ALL deserve an Oscar. Marilyn’s life wasn’t easy and even though probably she didn’t got through every thing the movie show us, is the director’s license that tell us a history and we need to respect it.
@sofiastellaabitbol3658

Her acting was remarkable but I did not like the script. We see almost only dark moments and we don’t see the overall of Marilyn. That is what I did not like. I guess it was adapted anyway from Oates’s novel, that is why we do not see everything we wanted to see. I think for a talented actress like Ana de Armas, she would deserve a little more than that.

@@sofiastellaabitbol3658 It was a work of fiction, an interpretation of the mental state of hers. And as far as I have learnt about her, her life was indeed very dark, her mental state was dark and the filmed portrayed that in its own way. It would have been wrong if they said its a biopic but it was clearly an art of fiction. Just my opinion.

I agree! Their are so many people out there who just are not capable of looking at the ugly side of the world and the awful things that humans do to one another when there is mental illness involved. It takes an artist mind to appreciate and look at the things that were done/werent done but were a possibility, and say, wow, these things DO happen! That's all! Too many people are reading way too much into the film, though I even was hoping for something different, I appreciate this perception of the author and filmaker of Norma Jean's story.💛

some people are hating on the movie saying its too graphic and or inappropriate and "thats not what her life was only about". she was literally used and abused her entire life. the reason why she ended up in many of these situations is because she had been conditioned to think it was love ever since her childhood. ana de armas did an outstanding job not only portraying her but showing the camera her depressing and rough moments not only her quirky and positive. i think its a good thing the director showed this non-fictional part of her life, even the assault scenes. and even how the president treated her. people need to know the truth of what happened to this poor woman. she had no mother, no father, and no one in her life had seemed to show her any kind of genuine love. norma deserved so so much more in her lifetime and was a insanely unhappy woman. always remember her as a strong, gorgeous and independent, icon. not some hollywood sex symbol the media made her out to be. remember her as a human being, not meat for men.

Excellent performance by Ana. The movie has beautiful cinematography and a good balance between fiction and reality. Was she a happy person? No Was she miserable all the time? Probably no. But there is evidence of her rough childhood with her mom's mental illness, violent marriage to Dimaggio and depression and anxiety in the world of movies. Nevertheless, she was brave and strong until she couldn't be anymore. Too bad that no one helped her, no one was close to her...she must have felt soooo lonely.

That is not true, she was not crying and sad all the time , it’s a movie showing parts of her life and her life was very sad and tragic for the most part, you can’t expect a rosie movie about her life regardless if some of the stories told are fiction most of them told in the movie we know happened but some fans don’t want to hear it they only want the glamorous side of her, not fair to Norma . She was a human being who suffered a lot , and what the movie it’s about, but she had times in the movie that she was happy and laughing, but it was a very sad movie.

@@dextermoore278 Yes she does deserve it. She won't get it though because there were no blacks in the film.

I would have never thought of it, but she did look lovely as Marilyn! However, I don't think there will be any more big "movie stars," as portrayed from that era. The movie industry has changed too much, with fewer movies in theaters, and more going to streaming networks and small screen, not to mention small content celebs on the rise, from social media. Neither Ana nor any other actress currently working today will ever experience the kind of stardom that Marilyn had. Hollywood isn't even the same anymore, and movie studios no longer control actors' lives.

Que las generaciones en primaveras ….en nuestra Cuba ….🇨🇺 ….nunca debemos darnos por vencido .! Es lo que le inculcó a mi hija . Este tipo de inspiración .! Cuba Bella y Ana Bella …! Gracias !
