I saw the Beatles on Ed Sullivan when I was 12. Since then they have been a part of my life. Hard to put into words their impact. And I am baffled by how they can still have an impact on my life, and clearly on the lives of so many people. They were together for 7 years, 7 months, 24 days. Put out about 250 songs. Averaging one every 10 days. No artist comes close to what the Beatles did musically and culturally. I hate when people say "It will never happen again" Infinity is a long time and the universe is infinite. But I think with the Beatles, it will never happen again.

I wish I had some way of telling Mike Myers how much he's meant to me for so much of my life. I fell in love watching him perform on SNL when I was only 9 years old. I was unknowingly autistic, and autistic people have "special interests", subjects that they are so interested in that they feel they must learn everything about them. Autistic females, especially those in adolescence, tend to make their special interests celebrities, and Mike was mine. I wanted to watch everything he was in and I learned everything I could about him. My friends got so tired of me quoting line after line from Austin Powers and Wayne's World and So I Married An Axe Murderer, but I didn't care, those movies made me happy. I'm a bit more casual of a fan now compared to my very autistic childhood where I sometimes would watch at least one movie of his a day, but I still adore him. When he came out with his book Canada a few years back, it made me so happy to read it and learn more about him and the amazing country he hails from. The relationship he had with his dad must be so bittersweet, because it was so good and now I'm sure even to this day he misses him terribly. I can relate as I lost my wonderful dad 3 years ago. Anyway, this is a very long and convoluted way of saying that I unequivocally love Mike Myers for who he is and for what he creates, and I'm so grateful to him. Growing up, when things were tough, sometimes the joy I got from his art was all that kept me going. The laughter helped heal my heart. Thank you Mike. PS- Another one of my special interests is Canada, one I'm pretty sure was sparked from my love for Mike, as both are so wonderfully kind. I have a lot of Canadian memorabilia, including a huge flag hanging above the desk where I'm typing this. I had plans to finally visit in 2020, but then covid came. Welp.

Mike Myers is - nominally - Canadian but he's fundamentally a Liverpudlian. I want to see him spend a week here and in that space-of-time he'll turn back into Ringo Starr. Used to happen to me when I was at College. I'd go home for vacation as Brian Sewell and come back as George Harrison.

i would say his humour, yes humour with a u, is a combination of liverpudlian and canuck, quick, a bit gritty, brutally honest and fuckin funny

As of this typing, Mike is only a few days away from his 59th birthday, going by the internet. Let that sink in, if you grew up watching him.

If dreams are private movies and movies are public dreams, I didn't want to leave the dream; I want to live it. Brilliant.

Mike is not talking about the LCBO at 2:09. He's talking about the Brewer's Retail (now called The Beer Store).

When Mike Myers _first_ cane to Scarborough, Toronto, he was one of only _three_ punk rockers in the school. He was routinely beaten up. Then his family left for a year and during that year, his hair grew back. He "normallized" his appearance. How do I know? I used to protect him when I could from the bullies. I didn't even _realize_ it was the same guy until years later. He had the _best_ house parties. You would know on Monday who was there by who was screaming in the halls "If it's not _Scottish,_ it's _CRAP!!"_

Its so great Mike and Stephen are talking about the Beatles, because it was IN THAT very space that four lads from Liverpool changed the world in 1964! Who knew that would happen? The Beatles, most underrated combo!

Mike is not the only Canadian with a connection to Buffalo, NY. A certain Canadian hockey player crashed his car while driving from TO to Buffalo to play with the Sabers. His coffee shops are all across the country. And in America too! And my brother knew his business partner who made Tim Horton's what it is today!

Jackson's Get Back was a Christmas present 53 years in the making. And the one good thing that I can see about covid, is that instead of a re-do of the movie, we have PJ doing what he does best: more is better. In the case of Get Back, I'd be completely thrilled if he did one of his extended editions. Mike, hit the gym, and find a new hairstylist, lol.
