I never really paid attention to Jeff Daniels until I saw that newsroom speech. Then I went back and watched a movie I never watched before dumb and dumber and started paying attention to Jeff. Now I can’t get enough of listening to how smart and what a good guy he is. It's actually really interesting (to me at least), Sorkin, the writer of the show, hated how that scene was received. He didn't mean it as a "wake up America, and look how bad it is" he was writing from the position of a guy having a breakdown (Daniel's character). I'm glad it worked as both, but its interesting to me how Sorkin eventually did not like the scene. I know it's what sold me on the show.

This is Christina husband Anthony ( I'm no angel) no better than anyone, ( its not a skin problem) , ( it's a sin problem) regardless of race we as humans are sinners , with evil hearts that lie, steal , cheat , think lustful thoughts, hold hatred in our heart which is the attitude of murder in need of a Savior who alone is Jesus Christ who died for our sins and salvation) To have a building gotta have a builder , and creation proves we have a creator God above) Romans 5 vs 8 God demonstrated his (love) towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us). God doesn't look at race , gender are nationality ( he doesn't care about those things ) he sees all people in only two catagories ( those that are his saved ,washed in Christ blood and he's there Savior ( and those that ain't his who rejected Jesus that's it) God is not the author of confusion making many ways ( Hes a specific God and make one way for all ( what can wash away my sins nothing but the blood of Jesus). According to John 14 vs 6 Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father above heaven and salvation ( noone else) this is because only Jesus Christ God's only Son and Savior sent from above who always existed in heaven in spiritual form, way before he was born on Earth in human flesh ( because he's God part of the trinty Father , Son and Holy spirit, Jesus alone went to Calvarys cross and shead his blood for our sins and salvation). John 3 vs 16 For God so loved the world that he gave ( u give are gave it's a free gift) his only begotten Son ( Jesus Christ at calvarys cross long ago for our sins and salvation) that Whosoever believeth in him ( not just agree in head what Jesus did , but anyone that truly from( deep within) ( by faith freely) (accept) Jesus Christ as a gift and his complete payment at Calvarys cross long ago for our sins and salvation and whatever we need) shall not perish but have everlasting life ( Jesus rising from the dead on the third day, was the Father above stamp of approval, that his payment at Calvarys cross long ago for our sins , salvation, and what we need was accepted, because it was a complete and perfect payment at Calvarys cross long ago, from a complete and perfect Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ ( it is finished meaning complete and totally done Jesus cried out on calvarys cross long ago in john19vs30 ( Romans 3 vs 23 all have sinned ,we all broke God's commandments lying, stealing , using his name in vain , thinking lustful thoughts etc) and no good deed we do can change (we guilty sinners worthy of hell) just like in court if we guilty no good deed changes that). Our soul and spirit once we die leaves our body and either goes to (heaven are hell). God in his (love) only made one way to be saved and changed, only one way to be made totally pure in his sight, and only one way to enter heaven instead of hell( through heart faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ and what he did at Calvarys cross long ago alone). We must be willing to leave our darkness our sinful ways and come to the light ( understanding God has nothing for sale ). Everything from God from A thru Z) comes only by faith for free, through the cross, where Christ died long ago for you and me) rather it's salvation, forgiveness, healing, diilverance over sinful things etc) Romans 6 vs 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God, a gift is freely received, is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord ( through Jesus Christ and what he did at Calvarys cross long ago alone for our sins and salvation). Salvation is simple) Romans 10 vs 13 says Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved ( We just humbly call on God in prayer (from the heart by faith in humble repentance) realizing we guilty sinners that lie and think lustful thoughts worthy of hell, really wanting to be saved and changed) Admitting God I'm a guilty sinner that lies and thinks lustfuls thoughts worthy of hell, please save my soul, through what your only Son Jesus Christ did at Calvarys cross long ago for my sins and salvation, I need the risen king as Savior and Lord) (than instantly) if we truly reaching out by faith from the heart to Jesus Christ and what he did at Calvarys cross long ago alone in humble repentance) we saved , forgiven, made totally pure by Christ blood, given by God's spirit a change of heart, granted heaven instead of hell, and because of our heart faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ and what he did at Calvarys cross long ago alone, we than become dead to the old person we use to be ruled by the sin nature that nature to sin in us, and we than become a new person on the inside, alive unto God spiritually speaking, risen with Christ, as a new creature in Christ 2nd corthians5vs17 ( and we get this and keep it the same way) not through deeds ( but through our heart faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ and what he did at Calvarys cross long ago alone ( on utube watch sbn live) people make fun of Christian's and hate them that just the way it is)

Better in what way? I think personally this is the beginning of the end. You can go on about social victories, eliminating racism, propping up the poor into a better quality of life etc., but there's a storm coming that ain't looking good for humanity as a whole. We are on the verge of a complete breakdown in climate, we are beginning to separate from global political unions while places like Russia and China plant seeds of doubt and influence the morons of our cultures to sabotage us from the inside out. Every voice is countered with a louder more idiotic one with no rational thought, our kids can't read an analog clock or do anything without asking google ahead of time, our food security is crumbing under the weight of a population explosion that started 70 years ago along with weather that destroys entire crops. Commercial fishing is less than 2 decades from a complete collapse because there's no biomass left from decades of exploitation. We're about to fight wars over water and food, it's no longer fuel that's the issue. We rely on billionaires that have exploited millions of people, the environment and our way of thinking to be our social crusaders and vessels of change. Do you really think it's a good idea to let rich people lead our communities and countries the way they see fit? Why wouldn't our governments be doing this for the people by the people? I personally think it's too much power to let Gates or Musk and the likes to be making these decisions for us. We are in a mess and winning racism debates and feeding the poor soup is not the real issue here, so I think it's going to keep getting worse exponentially from my point of view.

I'm unsure. I've been so amazed at the lengths people will go to in order to countenance bold-faced idiocy and cruelty. Then I wonder if what I'm seeing isn't the old power structure getting desperate as it realizes its days are numbered.

@@joejacko1587 HI Joe Jacko. In no way did I say that the solution to todays' ills, including racism, is to tax any poor people, regardless of race. I didn't define the power structure. I also believe you may be insinuating that my comment inferred that poor whites are racist, which I didn't and don't believe - unless each as individuals proves otherwise. What do you mean by "systematic racism working against us like it does?" Thank you.
