Sepehr Voshmgir we know they are but i think she was expressing her relief that somewhere in the U.S. mainstream media some humanity was showing instead of war propaganda. Most everybody on earth is decent and worthy of kindness and respect( though the corrupt "leaders" are not decent it is safe to say ) The 'portrayal' needs to happen more in both the U.S. and Russian mainstream media. Peace and good life to you.

White nights. St.Petersburg is pretty far to the north, so it never gets completely dark during summer. If you go even further north you will find your self in places like Murmansk. They have polar day and polar night. So it is day for 2 months straight and night for about 1,5 :)

I think you are misunderstanding the point i was making there.We are getting screwed by governments and the secret agendas trying to make us hate other peoples from other countries and focusing on a phantom 'enemy' while they increase their power over us. You got it totally backward. If the peoples of every nation no longer buy the bullshit being shoved down our throats by the "governments"-those in power- that the peoples of other countries are the "enemy' then we can finally oust the corruption at home ruining the lives of the peoples of earth...unless you are advocating that it is foreigners that are to blame for everything. You do realize that this is the secret agenda you are speaking of, right? I am advocating for respect of the peoples of the world in order to lessen the grip of warmongering governments running the countries. Rose-colored glasses?? I want the humanizing of people instead of deceptive caricaturing the "others" and foreigners as somehow evil or unlike us.

I was thinking the same thing :-) but you shouldn't underestimate yourself, I've been to Finland and I didn't know what to visit first. Suomenlinna, the Arabia factory, Helsingin Ooppera etc. etc. But it's perhaps all for the best that Stephen didn't go to Finland, who knows what he'd get wrong... I'm Czech and he's been in Prague, but only to say that Czechs shoot fireworks at the Old Town Hall tower. That's nonsense, that's tourists doing that. But now his viewers think that we Czechs are some crazy pyrotechnicians :-(

MartaVdz yeah that's what I was talking about in my reply) it's amazing how Americans can trivialize things in an arrogant manner. Lived in Prague for 5 years and I'm in love with it. Still seeing orloj in my dreams
@tilaNmanx7 жыл бұрын
MartaVdz Yeah I get what you mean, that happened with Anthony Bourdain, he really made Finland look like a gloomy nightmare land. Then again, Finland is also advertised as "See live bears!!" land, and bears are Colbert's biggest phobia, so... might explain why he didn't visit 😄 Also even I forget that we do have some great sightseeing places, like Suomenlinna or indeed Santa's workshop (and the reindeer, they are the absolute fucking best), but Colbert would still look for something political, and we have calm boring politics... which is something we should be thankful for, I guess. It just doesn't make good tv lol. Also didn't know that Colbert has been in Prague, was it on Colbert Report? I sadly don't know much about the city... or even that much about the country, shame on me... though I always thought of it as "Edgy Austria", which is a compliment but probably horribly wrong 😅 but the country does look really gorgeous; the architecture is so beautiful 😊 and "crazy pyrotechnicians" sounds like really badass label though 😆

I feel badly for these folks. What on earth have they to do with Trump, or peepee tapes, or Putin? They're regular human beings, being dragged into political conversation (satire) about things they have no control over. Say Putin does have some measure of influence over Trump: what can the respondents do except awkwardly say no? Or if they say yes, what difference would it make? To me it's almost in bad taste to make them rehearse these answers. Looking forward to the oligarch conversation tomorrow-that seems more like fair game.

it would be better if Stephen have talked to more people instead of limiting to just 3 or 4 people. I understand if it's difficult to get willing Russian to participate, plus the cultural differences. Overall, i think it is a good program by going abroad and talk to people from various nations.

How many people can you talk to within a period of 5 mins and what can you ask them? Think with your head not your poohole
@Classicthinker7 жыл бұрын
does 5 minutes on the show actually means 5 minutes in shooting? can't they talk to 50 different people and ask more interesting questions and condense it into 5 minutes of viewer-worthy clip? if you don't know what you talking about, then you will be better off to keep your stupid opinion to yourself instead of making stupid comment and embarrassing yourself.

I love how he basically emphasises "It's not the Russians that are the problem, they're cool. Donald Trump is the problem..."

Yea, but the rest of the world has stereotypes about Americans too. Americans eat cheeseburgers all the time and carry a gun wherever they go.
