I'm glad they got him for that role. He's a good comedic actor, but to see a Marine take on the role of a Soldier in a film like this... he knows the lingo, the cadence, the pacing and the stance. He knows how Soldiers work, think and move. It's subtle, but I can always tell the difference between an actor filling a role and a Soldier/Marine working from experience. I'm really looking forward to seeing this now!

well, when you treat your staff like well...humans....with respect...dignity....those staff members tend to move onto doing greater things than when they were with you. Hell even Stephen himself I'd argue moved onto doing something greater than being part of the daily show because he took over for one of the greatest late night hosts of the age and completely changed how late night talk shows work. Everyone that's worked on the daily show has gone on to do something amazing with their life and I commend and wish even better for each and every one of them. If you want a prime example of the polar opposite just look at Fox news.....i don't see any of their staff members moving on to doing something BETTER given their track record thus far with scandals.

As a former Marine myself, I’ve never met one who was funny & wanted to be an actor like Riggle. EVER - & that’s in 34 years!
@windwoman35496 жыл бұрын
Karma Hoe Listen up, douche: TONS of former Marines refer to themselves as FORMER Marines. You’re falling into the old trope/joke - got that? The only term I won’t take is “ex-Marine” - which to us means someone who got thrown out of the Corps. I.e., someone who screwed up badly enough to get busted & discharged under ‘for the good of the service’, ‘other than honorable’, ‘bad conduct discharge’ (Big Chicken Dinner), or - rarely - a ‘dishonorable discharge’, which is usually a felony-level offense such as murder or actual (more than 30 days gone) desertion. I AM a FORMER active-duty Marine. I AM a USMC veteran (service connected.) I married a Marine. I birthed & raised a now-former Marine (also service connected.) My son’s father retired with 20 years. A friend retired with 30 YEARS. We lost 2 brothers-in-arms/friends in the Murrah Building bombing of 1995. We sat with their loved ones while waiting for the bodies to be found. We attended the military memorial service on Tinker AFB. Wanna know my MOS? Wanna see my DD-214? Wanna talk to my son, who was born while I was on active-duty? Wanna see my V.A. ID w/ “service connected” under my picture? Where did I go to boot camp, asshole? What’s the process to re-enlist? What does SBI stand for? What’s a hash mark? Proper flag etiquette? What’s the nickname we use for a force march? What’s the nickname for female Marines? Who’s the Corp’s mascot, what’s it’s name - and why? What elements are ALWAYS observed at Marine Corps Birthday Balls? What does “A School” mean? What unusual inoculation do we receive? What do we call a toilet & from where is the word derived? What’s the Marine Corps equivalent of Army Special Forces & Navy SEALS? What does the acronym “FAST” stand for? What are the levels of rifle marksmanship from the bottom up? What does the red stripe on our blues trousers signify? You’re a massive part of the problem in this day & age, you dilated asshole. You think you know stuff you absolutely DON’T. Which means you obviously didn’t have the balls to be a Marine! So with all due respect (which is to say NONE), Hoe - go screw yourself.
