One this one song alone on this Debut album, your able to see what Cold Chisel would become in the future….. Jimmy and Ian’s Searing vocals and guitar, it all comes together when Chisel put the hammer down.

Chisel's magnum opus is their album East. If you're going to go through their catalogue, I'd put it at the top of the list.

Don Walker lived in Kings Cross, Sydneys, back then, very sleazy red light district. I always thought that Dazkazine was code for heroin, which was at its peak around then, with many, many artists in its grip. The line 'for her we all die slowly...' is where I get that. I think Don talked about it in his book, but it's ages since I read it.

I like this music but never looked into what the song was about. Jimmy at times can be hard to understand if it not a song I know the words to. As I listen to him when he younger, his Scottish background has a thicker Scottish accent in late 70's and the 80's than his later years, especially when he talking and not singing. As he has gotten older his Scottish accent is less pronounced but still there. I have rarely meet an Aussie that originally born in Scotland, Ireland or England that does not retain a thick accent of the nation they born in. Olivia Newton-John maybe the exception. She born in England, raised in Australia and lived out most of her adult years in California, in USA, but if I ever heard her talk, she sounded like she just lived down the road in Melbourne, Australia. Which is weird considering she would have spent many more years in USA.
