Jimmy's voice is like hunny, even at 22 years of age, or so. Such a mature sound.

It’s always good to hear Jim handle something like this, and just shows that he can….. even though this is the first album, it’s 5 years in the making from first performance….. and shows how they’ve honed their skills with endless gigging…..the floor less raw playing…..I and I’m sure everyone else that loves what you do, can’t wait to see you react to Album no2…. Breakfast at Sweethearts…..now you’re in love with Cold Chisel you can’t stop now….. Fantastic.

Ok you Oz Greg-a-philes... Tell the truth. Am I alone in thinking for far too long, that he said 'her legs were brown as Pizza stains...', rather than pecan stains? I don't think I even knew what a pecan was in '76!

Reminds me a little of the song, Sing To Me on their Twentieth Century Album. It no wonder back in the day, the media and music critics of this time could not pigeon hole what type of band Cold Chisel was. So incredibly versatile in their music and moods as a band. I was listening to some version of their cover of Wild Thing on youtube that was some concert in Germany and some time in middle of the song, Jimmy says, give me a bit of reggae, and incredibly, Mossy just shifts to a reggae version of playing Wild Thing, in a heart beat. Must have been from the Rockpalast tv concert in early 1980's there. I assume they were touring in West Germany at the time. Must have broke up soon after and did their Last Stand series of concerts back in Australia in 1983.

Agreed. I too consider the songs very similar.

Listening through fresh ears, as if I hadn't heard this many times. Such a beautiful and well crafted song.

I love Chisel's ballads. A great end to the album, which overall is a great debut album although a little raw and the production not real good but i probably have it on a par with East, which is their best known album. My favourite albums are Circus Animals and Twentieth Century which were the follow ups to East, respectively. Hopefully you will now do the Breakfast at Sweethearts album.
