I know AC/DC are brilliant, but seeing Cold Chisel live in the late 1970s at the old Sundowner Hotel at Punchbowl NSW was an experience of how a good a band can be, just totally awesome 👍👍🎸🎸

This must be the only episode of Rockturnal that survived, as it’s the only one Rage has aired.

Wow. This is the earliest video of this song I’ve seen. They are all so young here. Love it. Thanks. Cold Chisel are my favourite band ever.

This is eerie….. I used to see them regularly during this period… like every single time they came to Adelaide… Chisel were a force of nature…. People would stand mesmerized whenever and wherever they played… fast forward to their last concert in Hyde Park London… Prestwich absent…Barnsey clearly aged almost beyond recognition and the fire extinguished by the years… but still beautiful in its own way… obviously Aussie audience of all generations singing along…. It brought me to tears….I realised that day how much I love and miss Australia and Australian people… Thankyou for posting this…

Do you reckon Barnseys voice has deteriorated too?

he sang better, more natural back then.. guess all that alcohol has had its way with his liver.. he needs to flush that liver when he can..

Love their hair. Classic clip from their prime. First song is played a touch fast, making it hard for Jimmy to sing it properly with feel. They were amazing in the late 70s

Classic Chisel here soon after the release of their eponymous album, their ‘take no prisoners’ brand of rock n roll that became their calling card. Not surprising that Rod Willis took a chance on these guys, the bulletproof rhythm section, Jim’s soaring vocals and fearless stage presence and a 23 year old virtuoso guitarist who shared the microphone. A live Cold Chisel performance was a life changing experience. ❤
