I worked on these and the larger E195's at Flybe. Fantastic aircraft that don't get enough recognition.

What a nice little airplane. IMO it's the perfect happy medium between Boeing's visual representation of flight control status and Airbus's cockpit automation. Hope it's my first jet in a couple years.

I was told that it is good practice to always turn on #2 battery first to exercise (and test) the relay that would supply power to the DC busses in the case of the failure of #1 battery.

4:10 - Capt. You're in an Embraer 175, according to that placard. LOL! Very informative video.

Yeah, he's not a pilot, that's obvious. He's Maintenance. No pilot would "not know how to tell from up here". Also, it's clear he doesn't start the aircraft regularly, but merely puts power on for towing or troubleshooting.

@@TomCook1993 it doesn’t matter who is doing it for whatever reason. There is a reason why it is required to test the fire warning before apu start.

Hard for me to believe that the 175 is more advanced than the Airbus. Are you referring to just the fact that the APU is so automated or that the entire plane is more advanced than the Airbus? I mean the Airbus literally puts the crosswind correction in (lowering the upwind wing slightly and automatically puts the proper crab angle in) without the pilot needing to move the side stick at all.
