Here's my theory: It's called "Cold Feet" because they are unable to move out of the circle, they're literally stuck there, frozen in fear, and assigned an order to which they will be killed.

I really like this. I know some people don't understand it, but here's what I think. I could be wrong of course, has happened many times, lol. First off, just like the people in the movie, we don't know what is going to get them. We are witnessing it at the same time they are, or as the coach is. More than likely they are locked in the school. They find a piece of paper, open it, and there is a number with some dust. The number is the order in how they are going to be killed. The dust seems to fall at their feet creating a circle around them. The circle does not allow them to move making them paralyzed(cold feelt), and of course they have fear as they wait for their death. Again, I could be wrong, but that's my take. It's a supernatural movie, and very well done in my opinion. I like it that it leaves some up to my imagination, but I can understand why that's not everyone's thing, but I for one enjoyed it, so thank you! Great job!!!

The coach(?) ending up in a circle would've had more of an impact if there was a compelling reason why he would have to stay in the circle or if it was shown that there is no escape from the circle and why that is scary. Either of which could've been shown if he had tried to remove the kid from the circle.

I guess it's all about taste. To me the fact that you DON'T know is what is scary. We're kind of looking at the situation with the coach, who has absolutely no idea what is going on. He just knows that there is something very wrong, and now he's in the middle of this red circle. I can't say it's scary in the sense that I'll sleep with my lights on tonight, but it is incredibly unsettling.

I agree with the idea that the less you know about the monster/imminent danger the more scary it is because you don't know exactly how much danger you're in or whether you can escape it on your own. My problem is that I had no compelling reason to believe that anyone WAS in danger, everyone is clearly terrified to the point of being unaware of their surroundings but they were unharmed. So is the circle harmful or protection from a monster? Are they trapped because the circle itself is a trap or because to leave the circle is dangerous? Or maybe it was all just an elaborate prank, it's just as possible since no one was harmed and nothing was too much out of place. I guess I was just disappointed because I think they have a great concept, but they could've finessed it more.

I didn't get the impression they were unaware of their surroundings, just traumatized to the point where they are unable to interact with the coach (another clue that whatever is there is VERY scary). Someone I shared this with suggested to me that once they're in the circle, they can't leave it (as you suggested), leaving them to be frozen in fear and having to wait for their deaths. If that's true, then we hear the guy (#1) scream in fear and agony because he's being killed. The girl (#2) screams because she's scared and she knows she's next. The coach tries to run but ends up "tricked" into that circle, now trapped, and knowing he's #3, but still not knowing what is going on. Sure, it would have been nice to kind of see what the evil was...but then you run the risk of it being INCREDIBLY cheesy, which for me ruins the whole thing. But I think with short films, filmmakers just run the risk of it not working for everyone!

I seem to be of the minority here, but I LOVED the fact that you gave us basically nothing as to what is waiting for these 3 people when the time comes! Typically, our imaginations are much scarier that what we are spoon-fed! Maybe that's the problem! People of a certain age grew up relying heavy on our imaginations, then came the birth of the game boy, Nintendo, etc! Now kids don't have to use their imaginations! And i think that's a damn shame... so, I say kudos to you!

Kathy Hines I’m with you. I loved it as well especially because we don’t see some dark scary creature killing them off. That’s the point. Each individuals worst fear comes into play because of this. The film doesn’t confuse me . What confuses me is everyone’s need to have a story spoon fed to them....and if not then it’s “lame”.

I will admit. The story was confusing but it was great. It let's the viewers imagination open up the possibilities of what was hurting or hunting them. And I mean when she was scribbling on the paper.. chills... I love how it was never revealed as much as I wanted it be.

A demonstration of what it's like to be paralysed with your own fears / anxieties. If you felt it was boring, or didn't understand what happened, then you haven't had these problems. The only enemy here was themselves. Well, that's how I see it. Superb filming and directing. Oh, and there's no use trying to run from your own fear. And fear is infectious. Highly contagious.

EA whatever entity is probably killing the man who found the first note when he starts screaming. They're terrified because they find these mysterious notes and suddenly are unable to escape the circle that appears around them. She's next, and the main guy will be last.

I've done a few of these 48 hour challenges, and it's tough to write, shoot (including casting, gathering props, securing locations, etc), edit, (including soundtrack), and deliver a coherent story. So, well done! Spoilers! While many have gone for the easy analysis of the numbers being the order in which they will be murdered by an unseen killer and the mystical circles holding them in place, I have a different interpretation: The coach is sleepwalking and having a nightmare. The truth is, he had to get up in the middle of the night - to go to the bathroom. Hear me out... 1. We see him close his eyes, then wake up after a long time has passed. The truth is, he went home, fell asleep, and his dreaming mind is going over the confrontation with the student earlier. 2. He walks around, but it's dark. The truth is, he's sleepwalking around his house, because he has to go to the bathroom. 3. He finds the student with a number "1" written down. It all starts to make sense, doesn't it? 4. He finds the girl 'squatting', with the number "2" written down. Yeah. 5. Then there's the screaming. His body is telling him the dam is about to burst, and he needs to hurry, so he runs. 6. The door is locked, and he finds a number "3". The truth is, he can't get into the bathroom (perhaps someone else is in there, or he's not at the right location in his house for the door), and the number "3" represents confusion, and an imminent bad laundry day). "Cold Feet" is because he's stumbling around in his house on (probably) linoleum floors in the middle of the night... If there is prize money for guessing correctly, I'll take it in a lump sum, thank you. :)

I thought that this was a great short film. One of the best ones I have seen. Plus only doing it in two days, WOW. The editing was great the camera angles were good and I thought the actors did a great job. All and all this is wonderful. I could feel the tension. I am not for movies that don't have a closed ending but this was fun. How should we know what was going to happen. The coach was number three. Love it.

I thought this was pretty good. The acting was excellent and the story was very mischievous and left me hanging which I like because my imagination can now run wild. I will say to be careful of some of your camera shots in the future as you did not always follow the 180 rule and it was confusing at some points. I don't know how limited you were with this film, but more characters may have made it make more sense, but overall good job!

I must say, a lot of people either didn't appreciate, understand, or perhaps both, the plot and genius behind this film. We follow the protagonist along as he's trying to figure out Wtf is going on. The first #1 was brilliantly shown as a horizontal line, so we had no idea it was a number until he gets to number 2! Once he finds her, he sees that she too is stuck in a circle that paralyzes her both physically and mentally and then: number 1 starts to scream! He's first in line for our unseen entity and it's terrifying enough to make her scream, because she knows she can't escape whatever is happening to him, and scary enough to make our protagonist flee. Unfortunately, as soon as he got his own number, it was too late. The paranormal entity had already ensnared him and he gets to stand there and wait to hear not one, but 2 horrific killings, while unable to move, and he knows he will be #3. To the makers of this film: this was absolutely brilliant! It created suspense and terror without any visible monster, any gore, or any obvious explanation, which would've all taken away from the experience we were all having along with the protagonist: getting small bits of information until the horrifying realization hits. Props to you all for this wonderful, original film!

Is this one of those 'concept' films? This one is a study of fear and psychological reaction towards fear? He is walking thru different stages of it: distress alarm paralyzing, catatonic and hysterical terror . A mob hysteria is contageous. Our instinct is to turn and run in the other direction, without even knowing whats happening (or waiting to see whats going to happen). But in a film, unfortunately without any REAL story a viewer still cant relate emotionally to the characters. Therefor I cant buy into the fear. It just left me cold and detached.

Good overall, had plenty of scarier ideas compared to Scrambled, but I don't understand the whole repartee with the coach and the football player why not tie in the subject matter with the horror element. Also take your time with the build up, that scene with the lady could have been on for much longer for a better scare when the coach gets chased. .

can someone explain some details that makes no sense at all? the man with his cellphone away from him and he is in the circle, the girl on the table inside the circle, they are so scared that they could not move, where is the fight or flight response like the 3rd guy? how did the killer induce a fear to the victim that they are paralyzed? this short film gives me an expression of a movie being cutted and paste the desired part together to be a short film. or maybe this is how some short film are made.

devimon They were scared because they saw other scared people, and got scared because of it. Think about how you would feel if you walked into a room and saw someone that scared. Fear is contagious.

Nex: TheEliteGamingGroup i probably think they are crazy and might fear for to my safety. and probably think that they have been "injected or by other means: with a fear inducing substance like Scarecrow's fear gas (from Batman show) . The primary cause of FEAR is the main reason for the panic of people and we can say that fear is contagious (metaphorically speaking) example: when i saw a mass of people running away from artillery fire and gunfire of unknown people from the south area. it will cause me fear, concern, curiosity and the desire for information of the event. some people might go along with the running away. some people might just stand still and not care at all. some people might check the source of the fear. now, if the short movie was about a invisible supernatural entity able to induce fear to the victims, i might accept the movie but... ... no super natural happening at all. so...... this movie belongs to a natural event. but....... i don;t see the connection.... my mind just give an answer with a MAYBE. MAYBE the 1st person and 2nd person saw a person inside the circle made of red powder die a horrible death and they can't explain how but that person die experiencing a painful process till death. that might be the explanation for the plothole.

devimon The difference between seeing people running away from artillery fire and being alone in a room with something that caused that much fear to two other people is pretty obvious. He is afraid of what caused other people's fear, that's why he is so afraid that he froze up at the end, he's afraid of how scared the other two people were of an unknown person/thing, and his mind only multiplied the fear because he didn't know what caused the fear (People either hate or fear things they don't know).
