I did. Fish a lot with my 11 year old and get the same reaction when my "helping" doesn't work out.@@barrybutleroutdoors5293

That's pretty sweet! I like the rod holder set up. You leave the bail open? With a bell. Is that's what is going on here?
@barrybutleroutdoors52938 ай бұрын
Yup, so we use a slide rig just like sturgeon fishing except it's a bell weight sliding on the line. And sit it on bottom, let them eat and take line like a tipup, walk up, close the bail and go 🤟... Main line 15lb braid, then about 20 feet of 14lb mono with the slide rig and beads at the end tied to a swivel... Then about a 18 inch 14pb fluro leader, with a 3/0 gamakatsu ... using full size 10 inch suckers
@barrybutleroutdoors52938 ай бұрын
The rod holders have crap threads on them, so I use a 1/4" drill bit a put a pilot hole and they screw down easily. Rod will never go under lol.
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures8 ай бұрын
@@barrybutleroutdoors5293 Yeah I did this kinda set up with the jaw jacker and anchovies and they'd swallow it. Probably the bigger bait is better for this. They sure do like picking up dead bait off the bottom.

Another outstanding episode Barry. If you're ever around the Red Deer area, we should get together for an episode. Just a thought. Tight lines my friend.🎣
