Never in a million years would I have thought that someone would make a video essay of one of my favorite artists. Even though my favorite output from Prurient is from his more obscure releases, this video perfectly encompasses how I feel about his art. Beautiful video, criminally underrated. Thank you ❤️

FNF got me into Fernow and he became my favorite artist. I started with Prurient but eventually Vatican and Rainforest took over my listening habbits. FNF is my favorite Winter listen. It's one of the few times that an album stopped me dead in my tracks and made me think, "this is something beyond music, this is art."

Hey, this was pretty great! I loved this typography at 10:03. A great visual representation of the vocal chaos in _Poinsettia Pills_ (one of my favorite tracks from this work hands down). You earned yourself a sub!

never seen anyone do a vid essay(?) on prurient and this is my favorite album of his. i personally like his music because of the pain. it’s like an affirmation of life to me or a testing of limits. i’m also surprised that you couldn’t listen to “myths”, that song nearly brought me to tears it’s so beautiful

I think this is the rare video that truly understands noise music. This album is very important to me and even after the news about Fernow having some distasteful financial ties I find myself unable to stop listening to it. One of my most treasured memories with it was coming home from another town, exhausted and sad in a massive snowstorm. I remember listening to the second half of Greenpoint while almost getting run over by a plow-truck and having to wade over grey mounds of exhaust-dirty snow. You really knocked it out of the park with this one, what a fucking fantastic video!

What do you mean "distasteful financial ties"?

@@maggotgrave8793 He's collaborating and distributing Mikko Aspas music. Mikko Aspa also known as Grunt/Nicole 13/etc is a finnish neonazi. He has also collab'd with Sami Tenetz on a split, who's also a finnish neonazi. His band Ash Pool appeared on a nazi affiliated comp and their track was on Side 88. There are more tenuous connections as well (and this does go quite deep) but something to keep in mind in any case

think i need to relisten to this album, last time i listened to it (in a deep cuts discord lp, i dont remember if you were among the ppl who joined) it severely depressed me and thats kinda held me back from listening to as much prurient as i probably would otherwise (although ive been slowly relistening to frozen niagra falls, i love the haunting textures of it so much)
