Thanks for showing, I make with glycerin and baby oil, one spoon of each one and less glue, a 1/3 of a cup, mixed in a bowl if it's not cooked. I'll try yours with rice flour.

Very nice 👍 I think if it's too soft try warming it up in the microwave for 10 or 15 seconds then knead it and repeat until perfect

Hi, Thank you so much for an easy recipe for porcelain clay... I would like to know instead of shortening can I substitute oil, cream, or glycerine. Thank You
@katherinaperezart3 жыл бұрын
Actually the shortening preserves the porcelain and make it more soft, elastic and not too much shrinkable.
@anujnaina3 жыл бұрын
If you live in India shortening is dalda ghee

Hi, nice tutorial.I would like to ask if: 1.This clay dries hard or rubbery/flexible? 2. How well does it retain size, or shrinks? Thank you!
@katherinaperezart3 жыл бұрын
If you cover an armature using a layer of 1 thickness then it will shrinks instead if your layer is 3mm then it wont shrink. But if you model whole pieces, then the figure will keep the shape and size. When it dries is super hard.

You, at the out set, glue portion was much more than rice powder, so needed you to again mix up , six time flower. So it taken time long for result.

The plus...is to compensate for stickiness after other ingredients are added (add in a little at-a-time until it is the right consistency)

@@katherinaperezart Thank you so much for this recipe, your videos, and for mentioning coconut oil as a good substitute for shortening! I have a rather large jar of coconut oil that had been pushed back into my pantry and the date is just about to run out, so this is a perfect use for some of it! I have a lot to learn, yet, but working with clay is so much fun, and this recipe is a wonderful addition to my crafting repertoire! Have you ever tried scenting your clay? If you have, does it work well? Even if it doesn't, it has such a beautifully smooth texture! You have helped me so much!

Didn't you have a bowl to mix?
@katherinaperezart3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but it is easy in a bag
@princezzpuffypants6287 Жыл бұрын
Stirring something so thick with a spoon is very difficult. By using the bag, you can squeeze with your hands, but your hands don't get dirty. You can use gloves, but the ay will stick to the gloves and ruin them, or rip the gloves if they are very thin.
