"grab it and growl..." that's outstanding! Anyone who has spent any time turning wrenches knows just how insightful that statement is.

The stock ones? My theory is that over time the pcv oil residue compromises the stock tubes.

Hi, I'm a little new to DIESEL vehicles. I have a 2011 F250 6.7L My question is what's the difference between the cold side and the hot side? Thank you in advance.
@thoroughbreddiesel4 жыл бұрын
We refer to the hot side tube as the intercooler pipe pre intercooler, and the cold side post intercooler, or engine side.
@fair-gamer94534 жыл бұрын
The hot charge side was made properly with metal piping. They designe flaw engineered the cold side again... “charge pipe” meaning 27lbs of boost. With a plastic or polymer pipe. Srounded by heat should I add. Oh and only $280 plus tax! Ya.... and people pay 80k for some of these trucks. That’s what people should be pissed about! They stopped quality for quantity bc people just pay it and don’t care it seems anymore. It’s a Shame! It’s cost me a lot of money to make it right. Yet there’s people out there that don’t have a real solution that get to tell people you can’t do certain things to vehicles. They should be the ones then responsible for any payment needed to bring a vehicle emissions system back on line every time. As well early engine failure cost. Since they are the ones that regulate making engines recombust there own exhaust with burnt carbon “sand paper”, back through your cylinders for it to wear out the walls,rings, and dirty your oil faster. Say bye bye air pump!

HS site says after install, your ecm need to be tuned? Is this true for stock engines? Thanks for the video

Would it be harmful if I was to use a little non-petroleum silicone spray to help it slide into place.

Other than that one clamp on the power steering reservoir are there any other places to look out for rubbing. And what is the life expectancy of this part

I thought H&S got shut down a few years back. I'm really considering doing this, along with swapping the CAC, as I've heard the stock one is very restrictive.

i clicked on the link for the upgrade kit and it doesnt look anything like what you used?
@masoroo8184 жыл бұрын
Do you need after market tuning for this CAC pipe? My trucks tuned and deleted and just blew its stock plastic pipe. My tuner is no longer in business. Would this work with the tunes I already have? Thanks.
@thoroughbreddiesel4 жыл бұрын
The silicone version of HS pipes that is the OEM replacement version don’t require tuning.
@WildTines4 жыл бұрын
Did you also do an upgrade to the hotside piping as well? If so, what part?
@kane61935 жыл бұрын
Mine blew out just a few days ago. Order the H&S to replace it. Coming in soon. When I removed the damaged OEM plastic one, there was a lot of soot and fluid in the hose. Not sure if it’s oil or diesel fuel. Is there suppose to be any of that in the pipe?
@thoroughbreddiesel5 жыл бұрын
You are going to see a certain amount of oil residue in the CAC pipe because of the positive crank case vent system on these trucks.

Excellent video and great part. Took me 45 minutes. The only thing I noticed is the feed for the sensor is stretched to the limit. Some guys may need to unhook the wiring and reroute it. Other than that, it was simple

Do you have a recommended torque specs for the hose clamps on the silicone replacement hose?
@thoroughbreddiesel5 жыл бұрын
There isn’t a torque spec for the T bolt clamps. Do not tighten to a point that you strip the clamps and do not leave them loose enough that the blow off.
@charlesschultz44205 жыл бұрын
@@thoroughbreddieselThanks! Just thought I'd check as the factory ones are 90in/lbs but different clamp & different hose setup.
