I converted an old unused file cabinet into a cold smoker. Everything was free! Hope you enjoy!

I just built me a smaller 2 drawer version and I must say after seasoning it by doing a dry run, the first batch of meat came out amazing!

Keeping a low temp and the size of meat I had in this video, a bit more than 4 hours. Thanks for the question.

Did you sand the paint down or did you just paint over it? I built two of them and I have just painted over the original paint and have seasoned them with charcoal and oak

All I did is put a wicked hot fire 🔥 in the bottom, after it cooked the old paint off, pressure washed inside and out. Let it dry...and painted over the the entire cabinet with high temp paint, heated it hot 🔥 again to get rid of the smell of chemicals from the new pain. Hope that helps.

Thank you! My first one I just painted over everything. Washed all of the grease out of it and burnt all of the plastic out of it. I appreciate This advice! I will certainly be doing that process on my next ones

So you want to heat your beer.....and no thermometers per drawers ?
@Mapleridgefarms4 ай бұрын
Lol, trust me ... the beer doesn't have a long time there. We did add temp gauges to the drawers. That will be in the updated vid.

What are you using for a heat source
@Mapleridgefarms3 жыл бұрын
Just a few clean hardwood pieces of hardwood and then I place clean apple or cherry wood chunks in a pan with water placed right on the coals. All in the bottom drawer and if the heat gets to much, just open the drawer to let the heat escape out the front.

That why its a cold smoker, never goes above 100 degrees
