Cold Start of my Ford 445D tractor/loader

Back in December, I bought myself this Ford 445D tractor at auction. She's a "skip loader" from 1993, with a 3-cylinder Ford 201ci NA diesel; an 8-speed(4x2) transmission with a torque converter drive and "e-clutch" engagement. In practice, it drives kind of like a hydrostat, but you use the accelerator instead of a dedicated vehicle speed control.
After getting it, I had to upgrade the starter - the direct-drive starter /sucked/ - it would crank for about 15 seconds on the 4D 12V battery before draining it down, and this tractor may not be the highest on compression...
The new aftermarket gear reduction starter can crank it like that for a minute straight with no noticable loss in battery performance.
The "thermostart" button I use there is an interesting idea - it's a single glow plug and fuel nozzle /in the intake manifold/. When cranking with it hot, fuel is injected into the intake manifold, where it catches on /fire/ and burns, creating heat to increase combustion temperatures.
Oh, and something I don't show in this video, but when I bought it, the 3-point arms were off. Turns out the whole 3-point system was F***d. Completely. So, I ended up finding a Ford 4100 tractor on Craigslist that I stole the whole 3-point lift system off of(including hydraulic system)... and which bolted straight up.
Now, she's usable. Can lift 4,000 lbs with the loader, and doesn't get fazed by much. A great tool for my future projects this spring.
