Not only are these guys great, it's really interesting to see the cross-pollenation between "corps" style and this - I hear some Aungst-era Cadets Double Beat in there, the open-hand left singles to work on technique remind me of stuff we'd do in college to work on technique, there is some late-00's Gusseck influence in there...

Man, what I wouldn’t give for the high school I work at to have a sick drum line like this! My kids are so down on themselves, embarrassed to say where they go because we have a bad reputation. My district just opened a new high school to the west and split our area in half: the white affluent half gets the brand new school, while the Black and Asians kids in the lower socioeconomic neighborhood go to our 50-year-old building that hasn’t won a state championship in any sport in decades! But if we could find that pride! Find the thing about ourselves where we are tops and can’t nobody touch us, we could flip that script! A drum line would give kids that reason to stand taller and like the kid they see in the mirror! 😎🥁

Yo watching the section leaders calling different sections/dynamics similar to what you'd see in a gospel setting is so fucking cool. Before I was ever in a drum corps warmup lot I was watching the movie "Drumline" on repeat. So happy to see this representation. Everything about this is dope. The drums tuning, the dynamics, the writing is technical enough but definitely grooves hard. The snares are ill no doubt, but the tenors and bass’s are LOCKED.

I like the Evans heads better on the Pearl drums please keep those heads although medium tension is ok just like the crispness of the Evans heads on the Pearl Drums.
