I have had my american lawman for about 4ish years now and it has been amazing. Easy to sharpen, and the lock hasn’t failed me yet. Nothing but good things from the knife. The lock can be stiff so I don’t recommend handing it to someone who doesn’t know knives. I can’t even count the amount of times someone had borrowed my knife and they bring it back to me saying “I can’t close it”, but it isn’t an issue for me so I don’t mind. Mine is all beat up so the paint has chipped on the blade, and I personally love the look. It holds its battle scars and doesn’t effect functionality at all

Ya gotta love a knife that looks well loved

Both of mine were stiff at first because they were both new, but now after use they open easily. It's an easy carry for a bigger knife due to how slim they are.

I am into popular USA productions from crk to protech. But damn, do I love a tri ad lock. And I love the ugly clip because I have children and dont always want an easy opening blade. I have to thank Lynn Thompson for getting me involved and hooked in the 90s with his crazy commercials.

I like the slightly wore look of the blade coating,also love carbon blades when they get that patina😉

My favorite Cold Steel EDC folder! Have a couple, one in CTS-XHP and one in S35VN! Also have an older mini- Lawman with an AUS-8 blade.

I’ve carried an American Lawman at work for about 6 months and is held up well. The slim profile and light weight make it very comfortable in the pocket. I did add a short paracord lanyard though, which makes it a bit easier to draw. I never thought about the choil area of the handle interfering with the opening, but, now that you’ve pointed it out I’m seriously considering taking some material off there.

Yeah the owner of this one said hes probably going to, wich would be very easy and it could only benifit, and a little bit would go a far way and make a huge difference

Late to the party but nice video! Just got 2 of them off Amazon for 78 bucks each and they are sweet knives honestly do not believe you can buy a better knife for that price. I have a buddy that is a machinist and he is going to make dents on the locks for me

Excellent review Sir. I've mine a month and I really like it. There's a great deal to like with this knife. I started off with a loose pivot trying to make it flickable. However, I think it benefits from having a tight pivot and as you say enjoying the slow roll.

My favorite knife ever, had a tenacious but tired of sharpening it all the time. Sometime may try a code 4 for the better blade configuration, but their quality and price are unbeatable in my opinion.
@timbo43743 жыл бұрын
Yes, the coating has dulled from use. It has been used heavily, and in fact, that is the knife Outpost76 used to do the head to head with his Lawman in CTS-XHP, so it cut a shit ton of cardboard. Plus, I have used it a lot. It's one of my more carried knives.It's well broken in, lol. That edge looks great btw.. You did fine brother.I'm thinking of grinding down that big nub in the handle up by the choil a little bit. I think if it was a little shorter it would make it more comfortable both in use and in the opening action. I need a new Dremel before I can do it though. I burned my old one out so gotta buy a new one.
@NeevesKnives3 жыл бұрын
Wow you musta put that dremel to work, and i think that is such a great idea, the knife would be so much more badass, with that tiny detail changed a little and it wouldnt take much at all

I feel they designed it to double as a guard. I own every generation of the lawman except a flat grind xhp. I have many many nice knives and the previous generation with the aus 8 steel and thicker handle is a dream in hand. The newer thinner versions are great also and more convienient to carry. The Lawman is my measuring stick if I’m considering a large size folder. Like would I actually carry x knife over one of my lawmans?

@@brandonwagner9329 wow i didnt even know they had been out that long or that they once had a thicker version

@@NeevesKnives it wasn't a real Dremel, but one of the cheap knock offs. Lesson learned..you get what you pay for. I don't think I'd remove it completely, just knock it back a bit and round it off some so it isn't as pointy.

I don't have the American Lawman. But I bought my first Cold steel 2 weaks ago. The 4 Max Elite. I am smiling every time I take it in my hand. It's insane robust and strong. It's fun to have ultra premium knifes. But if tomorrow will be Apocalypse and I could only bring 1 folding knife, it would be my cold steel by far. Almost as strong as a fixed blade. My only little regret is that if I had to buy it again, it would be the Scout witch almost as perforfing as the Élite 5 time cheaper. 5 time 😱. It's like wine does a 500.00 bootle is 5 times better than 100.00 bootle? Yes probably a little better but not 5 times I am completly satisfied of this beat that I can count on it
