I have wakisashi from Cold Steel too. It was not pretty but now it is. That is even fatter but still good to use. It had really nice edge on it. Now it is better.

Just got my first Cold Steel sword, the long handle warrior series wakizashi. It's a handsome, basic design. I'm considering the flower katana to have something a little prettier to go alongside it. Looks like a decent value as well.

1060 steel is on the lower side of katana blade steels. Let's at least see some 5160 or 9260 spring steel. Or go all out and use S5 or S7 steel.

@Adam-kr7hr A real Japanese Katana is expensive as shit. There are some good quality usable and affordable Chinese options. Cold Steel is not what it used to be. It's a circus act now with these girl models and Stick MAN. They used to have great testing demonstrations when Lynn was running the company. Now they cut cardboard and throw crap at the most for testing. At least Lynn made such an impact that there still are die hard Cold Steel fans even though the quality is half of what it once was. In the 90's they changed the knife world into what it is today. They reinvented the wheel. Now they can't hang with the competition.

Hilarious. They haven't made swords in the USA ever, most of their products are overseas. Many years ago some of their products were made by Camillus and were f-ing amazing. These are made in China or maybe India. They actually don't say anywhere...having said that the swords I have from Cold Steel are incredible. Just don't pay full retail.

@@JonnyParker- There has never been a Cold Steel factory, they contracted with whoever could make what they wanted to Lynn’s specs of course. But in recent years they absolutely have cheapened the brand, it’s a shame. Most swords were/are made in China, many in India. The high end San Mai and Tantos used to be made in Japan but switched to Taiwan some years ago due to cost. Lots of stuff now made cheaply in China with a drop in quality. Again it’s a shame.
