Cold Steel Natchez Bowie Knife Test & Review. 12 Inches of Silvery Slow Mo Death.

The Cold Steel Natchez Bowie Knife is a bigass survival, tactcical, self offense blade that's just a hair under12 inches. Lynn Thompson saw other punier Bowie knives and thought… these need to be bigger and we need to cut rope with them. So I decided to make a video that has part slow mo, part regular mo and also I pretend I know how to use a knife. I chop, I cut, I prance. If the samurai fisherman can do it, so can I. If you think this big ass tactical, hunting, fishing, and safari knife is something you need in your life- buy it here:

I once met an aussie in the outback who had a 12 inch bowie stuffed down the side of his drivers seat, when I said 'holy shit what do you need that for?' he explained that if a roo jumps out on a track and comes through the windscreen, you gotta kill it before it rips the shit out of you trying to kick its way out. That, my friend, could be the one and only use of that Knife I reckon!

Nice review - and it certainly gets a person thinking. I love the dry humour and satire, and I love the cold facts interspersed throughout the review. I live in Africa. The favourite traditional weapon here is a "panga" aka machete. I think that it's better to have a weapon when you need one, than to not have one. Sure, sure...weapons are all situational - gun vs. sword vs. axe vs. stone vs. ICBM etc... It's also about a craft, though, and aesthetics and the "art of the possible". It's a personal choice. If I were facing some crazy puppy wielding a panga then I would lurve to have in my hands a piece of reliable, cold steel that can match it. A gun would be better, I suppose...even throw a spear at the silly fuck, but... this is a knife review, right?

I know I am late to the game on this video and the channel in general but I got to say this is classic. Your videos are great for people like me that love these kind of things (big sharp pointy objects) to play with and recognize it as such without having to pretend there is some likely real world use for such toys. It's perfect for those of us with a brain that generally don't find much in common with a lot of people with a "tactical" mindset, a word I despise more than life by the way!!!

I figure if a knife weighs more than a slab of ground beef it needs to be put in perspective.

I will be buying more Cold Steel and Benchmade due to Spyderco upping their prices ridiculously. They make a Recon 1 in S35VN now without the mall ninja coating. I have a Hold Out 3 in Aus 8 and that knife rules. There is also an older model barong machete that I use to edge my lawn with in the garage. I sharpened it on my driveway. You should make some punji sticks to protect that Alamo.

Sharp bamboo surrounding the whole house. There is no HOA, but some people might be inclined to start one. And then they find out we RENT. Ok. I have no idea how HOAs work.

Just become the president of the HOA and then you can require that all your neighbors have 100 punji sticks in their yards. I bet you could pull it off. People are dumb as shit.

I missed it... and I thought it needed to be in there twice... once in fast motion and once in slow motion.

Machetes are too large and cumbersome to take into a tree when you're climbing with spikes, saddle, ropes and chainsaw. Sometimes it's nice to have a heavy knife to remove small limbs on the way up especially if you are usually carrying a medium to large chainsaw that you'd rather only fire up when you're dropping larger branches or section of trunk. I custom built my own for said purpose but I also use it to butcher large animals now as well. You're right about the rust though. I find blood causes rust much faster than water so clean your blade when you're processing the animal. Id rather have my modified machete if I was attacked by a wild animal but I could get the job done with that piece of steel you're holding there. I don't worry about knife fighting cause I usually fight men with my bare hands. In my life a tool like that is a great luxury to be used with pride. I have a hard time understanding why this video seems to think it's a ridiculous item.

Unfortunately it isn't. Some people need tools like this to make our lives less miserable. I clicked on the video to see a serious review of the knife but now I'm watching his videos cause they're funny. I just wanted to let him know how some of us really use tools like this in this century. I'm an arborist who was born to an immigrant who still buys his large feasts alive from the farm so I am probably seeing tools like this a little differently than the majority of subscribers to this guy's channel. . . . I'm also a bit of a troll so I was proding when I saw this video until I found out I liked his channel so that's my bad.
