Wrap handle with denim and rubber bands. It's great camp knife. You might be missing the whole point of this knife if you haven't used it and abused it. Not for city folks.
@DocP91B Жыл бұрын
If you wrap the handle in denim and rubber bands how do you open or close it?!?! You might be missing the point of a folding knife if that's your idea for this knife. Not for people who dont understand physics. No point of any knife is "abusing it". Every knife is to be used in a certain way. There is litterally no knife made to be abused. There are some blades that are only made to stand up to light use. Some for EDC. Some for field use. Some.for dedicated hard use. But anyone who thinks they are cool because they "abuse" a tool of any kind is a fucking idiot. Before the end of my first year in the military I learned to show proper respect for every tool and weapon I was issued. Not a single one of us, city or country ever thought the purpose of anything we had in the field was to be "abused" but maybe that's just because we actually did things where our lives could litterally depend on our equipment and stuff...

Wow! That's one hell of a great job and that Sniper Green is looking tight. I decided to take a chance and do my own custom work on some knives. It was scary but very rewarding. I made a detent ramp on my ZT 0804CF, and put sharpening choils on a Steel Will Bruiser 500 and CRKT M16. My ZT 0804CF has a smooth carbon fiber scale which I do not like. Do you think that Sniper Green coating would adhere to carbon fiber. Please let me know. Thanks for the video my Bladed Brother 👍⚔️✝️🇺🇸
@DocP91B3 жыл бұрын
I love hearing that people are taking the step to trying out their own custom work! Cerakote will adhere to carbon fiber as long as it is prepared correctly and applied and cured according to the instructions. You'll need to give it a good sandblasting or a rough sanding, and then wash it thoroughly to make aure all the residual powder is completely gone. After that you can apply and cure it like normal.

I think you have missed the point with this knife. It is meant to be a folding knife that is as useful as a fixed blade belt knife in the bush. It isn't meant to be used as a fashion accessory or for cleaning you fingernails, Hon. It is meant to be a folder that can be BATONED. I bet you Ceracoted the keys to your Prius.

Very cool video, like the colors on that, was looking at maybe getting a pocket bushman but now cold steel has that finn wolf and i think that would be a better choice over this, that locking mechanism is strange, i mean if you are in a survival situation, and your hand or arm is out of commission its going to make opening and closing it a real pita.

What about putting a lighter spring in the lock? Looked about the same size as a pen spring. Maybe with a light spring it could be single hand operable.
@DocP91B5 жыл бұрын
Good idea, but it has a lot to do with the pressure the handle body puts on the lock bar. And yeah, that could be adjusted with very careful manipulation...but any mistake at all would end up with a knife that would kind of fall apart.

I think the reason for the very low clip and the fact that there is no tip down carry option(not that I mind) is because the holes that are required for both of those things would interfere with the ram-lock.

Good Review! But, as a german, i have to say, the 2015 version, with the CTS BD-1 steel is much much better in edgeholding! I have had the Krupp 1.4116 version, and the heattreating is worth. It is too soft. It is possible to to heattreat this steel well, but Cold Steel doesn´t. The edde rolls, by cutting a thick carton!!!! I sold it. CTS BD-1 is simular like 440C and it does a much better job. I´m a educated Blacksmith. Greetings from Germany, Martin.

Looks nice but paint job is even more money then the knife is worth So not worth it Also how fast does it scratch and then looks crapy? It looks like fast, considering it was scratched already at the back of the knife at the end of the video
@DocP91B4 жыл бұрын
That was a gouge not a scratch. Cerakote doesn't scratch easily. But when you ram a screwdriver into it by mistake, that'll do it. Cerakote is actually really durable. It can take hundreds of hours of salt spray without wearing. It also gets stronger the longer it is cured fir a time. I should have left it for another 24 hours before I put it together. So in short, I screwed it up. Blame me, not the product. I was new to the application game then. But I still have that knife and it has a couple of very faint wear marks but no vissible scratches or chips.
