its 45 now . i have had this for yrs & u love it is the best folding knife i own . thr lock is a bit of a pain but its better than having a folding knifes blade come back to bight u when u r stabling / cutting with it . i watched a vid where they hung 150#'s on the the lock with the blade clamped in a vice . the lock did not break!
@larquefausse36234 жыл бұрын
I've had mine for years. It's long, but it's thin so I use it as my EDC. Very strong and if you somehow manage to break it, it's no big deal. It's durable to last you a long time, but cheap enough to replace. Only real downside it's got is that awkward closing and the handle can get slippery (being so thin doesn't help it either), but I've seen people just use a hide strap as a quick remedy when doing some more intense work.

When I got it, it was all wrong, not due to klik belt but 100% fault on my part when ordering. I called and spoke to Donna, and she could have not made it any easier to replace it with what I wanted. You seem to attract a lot of troll's who make uninformed comments; sorry about that, but thanks for doing this for us. I think you talked me into this knife, though been thinking about it for a while now. Yes, I intend to cut in a 90 degree flat on the blades spine. Though not a primary blade, it will make a fine and dandy, bottom of the pack, backup blade. Being stainless, it should not need too much attention as far as maintenance is concerned, best of both worlds.

Looks to me like it would be good for an emergency kit or smaller EDC bag where a fixed blade of the same size might have too large a footprint to work. Because of the lock and uncomfortable (looking) handle I don't think it would make a good EDC pocket knife (and I do carry large folders sometimes.) I have been going back and forth about getting one and if I do I will probably take a spray can of that 'tool dip' type stuff, open the knife, stuff the channel with paper and then spray a section of the blade where it is actually gripped on both sides and down the back as well as the thin leading edges on either side of the channel. I did such a thing on a Buck Paklite (fixed blade) with a skeletonized handle and it really improves the security of the grip and comfort without really adding much to the width. As this is not a 'pretty' knife I would have no problem with that and think that it might actually improve the aesthetics (such as they are) a little. Wouldn't care if a little overspray got into the channel - just scrape it off with a razor blade or something. Don't know how long it would last but if it started to wear I could just spray, again.

Agree with your comments about this knife. I bought one due to the strength claims (which are probably true), but as you say the locking system is a pain in the neck. When I saw a Blade HQ video testing various folding knife locking systems and saw the Buck 112 withstand without any damage 350lbs pressure on the handle (100lbs more than Cold Steel claims for this knife) I returned to the 112’s big brother - the Buck 110. This Cold Steel knife is IMHO a good knife, but the locking system was just too much for me to deal with when I have my 110.
