Here's the Govee temperature doo-dad that I was using.
I carry this on the outside of my pack when I'm backpacking and it's very useful since it gives me an entire temp and humidity profile for the last few days/nights.

Great video. I would have roasted alive with that much insulation. I'm a hot sleeper. Testing everything at home is always a great idea. 12:50 😁😉 I need to go back and watch that video. I don't exactly remember what you were doing before or the modification was suggested.

Interesting review . nice to see someone testing gear before heading out to know what it can and cant do, all the best from Canada and keep up the good work with trail maintenance , been doing that here for nearly 30 years now its a great way to give back to the trails. Glad it worked! I don’t want to backpack when it’s cold enough to need to carry three pants and three tops, but many people do. Some great ideas for us cold sleepers. Especially the hot pocket! 🥖❤

Yes!! The hot pocket for sure! Pepperoni Pizza is my favorite 😍 I definitely won't backpack when 3 layers are needed during the day, but I don't mind so much if it dips down to 3-layer-weather at night....especially now that I've found I'm so much warmer in the hammock.

For cheap and light weight option to add warmth for your winter setup we use a $15 emergency blanket. Weighs less just an ounce or two and can easily add 10 degrees of warmth.

Great test 👌 You can also consider a wind sock. This can give you the enclosure that a tent provides and helps keep more of your warmth trapped in the sock/hammock. Thanks for sharing🎯

Yes!! I had been looking at that vented one that Dutchware makes, it's really nice. I've also been kicking around an idea of making a removable fitted top cover out of either their Cloud fabric or the same Argon fabric as the underquilt protector. So many fun ideas to do with hammocks, the ideas are endless 😁 Thank you for commenting and bringing this up!
