Inspired by the 1988 classic “Red Storm Rising”, command a nuclear submarine in a desperate attempt to prevent “mutually assured destruction” when the Cold War gets hot and WWIII begins.
You will be tasked with intercepting convoys, amphibious landings, insertion missions and battling it out with enemy warships, submarines and aircraft. Thankfully, an arsenal of wire-guided torpedoes, anti-ship and cruise missiles and the occasional SEAL team are on board to keep the Iron Curtain at bay.

The reason the Nordstop doesn’t hear you is because it’s travelling at flank speed(or close to) it would be the same as if you were to stick your head out of a car going at highway speeds and trying to hear what someone 5 meters away is saying, in other words almost impossible. Otherwise great episode as always

Grest episode. It wasn’t too short and the gameplay was fun. I do miss seeing the summary pages and the traveling on the map. You don’t have to edit that out. It keeps us in the game. Ease up on the editing, you are enjoyable to watch.

These 1960s diesel sub designs are basically improved mark XXI U-boats, so it really makes sense to operate them as such. Also, the closer you get (undetected) the less chance they have to evade.

Not necessarily. The Foxtrot had torpedoes with homing capabilities that the U-boat crews could only dream of.

The Alfa submarine or 705 cannot outdive MK46 Torpedos. The estimate of 1000m dive depth came from US intelligence during Cold War. However project 705 was designed for 400m test depth down from original 500m to allow for a thinner hull making it lighter to compensate for heavier reactor and equipment. Making the hull thinner does not add to its strength, if anyone is wondering.

Does Cold Waters "level" your opponents. So, if you're in a Foxtrot, you're not going to see a lot of nuke boats. Or if you're in a Skipjack, you wont see Sierras all the time?

@@qboid4763 In that case, Wolfpack is the luckiest diesel boat skipper of all time. Have we yet seen one of his videos where he faced anything out of his league? I can't remember any. It's my experience that these 35 year old Soviet diesels are meat for U.S. Nike boats. Even the Nautilus. On a side note: any word of ever getting a Skate class for Dot Mod?

The Nordkapp model is a placeholder for now, the real ship looks a lot more "normal".

How are you able to use your periscope like that without them immediately locking onto your position? I've never used it much because I figured if the detection meter was anywhere above half I would just been foumd

I have no idea what the detection meter signifies, other than "don't keep your scope up for more than fifteen seconds or so when it's full." I've never been detected by my scope unless a helicopter was above me.

I hate those Norwegian ships, they look absolutely horrible compared to the custom models for the USN, RN, and Soviets. One of the devs must be Norwegian or something because none of the other ships with placeholder models like the Charles F. Adams are allowed to spawn. I replaced them with the British escorts on my install.
