I'm glad I watched this. I'm about to epoxy a desk and I was gonna do it in the garage. Temp will get up to 70s tomorrow but will drop into the 40s/50s at night and I was going to pour in the garage. I better move this pour inside. This is only my second time using epoxy and it was summer time when I first used epoxy. Thanks. Love the content.

Thank you! My down stairs at my house is much colder and it gets really hot on the second floor. I usually run a space heater during the colder months.

Once my epoxy has firmed up enough where it isnt runny, and hard enough to NOT accept dirt and debris caused by air movement (12 hrs after pour), I use a space heater and heat the room as high as i can so it kind of cooks the surface. Ive had great success with getting a very hard surface.

My trick(s) are 2 steps. Under my work table I have a small heater, the ones that look like a small radiator... I turn it on an hour or so before my pour, on low setting, so the table and work surface come up to temp and the heat radiates up, keeping the surface toasty. Next, I get a 5 gallon bucket and put part A (the thicker resin part) in, then take it to the bathtub or sink and fill it with REALLY hot water, just enough for the bottle to start floating (not bobbing or tipping, just to the point of bouyancy) so the hot water about equalizes to the level of the resin inside. I leave it in the hot water for a good 15 min or so, until the water starts cooling down. I take the resin out, and THOROUGHLY dry off the bottle with a paper towel. NOW it's ready to mix/pour. Part B is naturally thinner than A, but if it's a little cool and thicker, mixing it 1-1 with the A will loosen it up and they both come to temperature together when mixing. Pouring my piece on the 'heated table' helps with curing... I leave the heat on for a while, up to 12 hrs to help the cure. Torching as normal at the start and I haven't gotten bubbles in years! see my latest creation: facebook.com/groups/409360502890270/user/100002241220378/

Hello, Great information. Do you have to wear respirator mask while working with resin?

Torching doesn’t cause it to yellow?

Not unless you scorch or burn it.

My epoxy went rock hard in container 10 mins after I mixed it. Lucky I poured some in a couple cups. It also got real hot and started smoking! 😳

What product are you using? Stonecoat countertop give you plenty of working time but you can’t leave it in the bucket too long. The chemical reaction will cause it to heat up very quickly.
