Hi Emi! I’m also a patreon member for a long while now. Ive made many of your recipes from your book and your patch is sewn on my bag. I follow you because you give me hope in overcoming some of my own anxiety. I use to not be able to leave my house out of fear but for the past year about 2x a month I now will go to the store on my own. I couldn’t even drive myself but started that just by driving in my neighborhood. I follow a lot of van lifer but only look for your uploads because i know you are a true person not doing this for likes or money. I feel you really want to inspire people to live life and so I hold onto that. I’ve been saving for 3 years since watching you first time for my own van and my goal is to one day travel and live free like you do. I will be here for as long as you are. Hi Emi, you need to get you a heavy folding Mylar car windshield cove to place between your head and the vans doors. When it's cold in the spring and fall my husband and I placed one between our heads and the tent wall. Really helps. My Sweet hubby passed away on May 31, 2023. I did go tent camping a few nights before our favorite campground camp host left. It was hard but was so needed. .I can't wait for Spring. Be safe!

I'm amazed how the wild animals survive through all the cold weather! I guess it doesn't matter to Otter, who lives in the cold water all the time. I love the otters, too. Solidarity, Emi! It's noon in Tennessee and we are 16 degrees F (-9 C) in a rare cold spell. About 5 inches of snow falling and expecting about 8. Will go for a walk when the temp climbs over 20 F. It's supposed to get down to 3 degrees F overnight Tuesday (-16 C)..Brrrrr! I always enjoy your mostly cozy posts. You and Kelly stay safe, warm and well in your own upcoming storm. How cool on the otter!!! You got some great shots to share. If you ever have a place for more art, one pulled from the otter video today would be amazing.

The common merganser duck is so beautiful. That sea otter sure liked being in front of the camera. Your adrenaline kept you warm 🤗📸😊 down fall your extremities don't receive the same message. It's wonderful to see you have some nice warm blankets. I have a blanket, I'm a handweaver, I actually wove it. It is wool and it has been around many of my pets. It has the good vibe. I put it on my bed at night and it's like magic, my cats and dogs love it. I always wonder if they can sense it is "pet friendly"? When I think of all the dogs and cats I have had that have enjoyed it, it is a lot.

There is a river otter in Lafarge lake....which is not a real lake. It's the oddest place to find an otter. Most of us have no idea how he got there since it's a man made lake in the middle of suburban neighborhoods. He likes to eat all the fish they stock the lake with every summer for local fishing. He's adorable. We also have a couple beaver's. Really wild for a tiny man made lake.

River otters are my favorite mustelids, but I love all the mustelids, adorable little vicious carnivores. They remind me of bears or ravens in how they play so much. Did you notice that at the end, we could see Kelly's shadow on your jacket?

While sighting otter(s) is exciting, they may on the rare occasion attack you, especially in the water. 3 women from Bozeman, Montana were floating the Jefferson River in inner tubes Aug 2023. They were bitten and clawed from their faces to their feet. One woman lost most of one of her ears and part of her other ear. The pictures I saw were very gruesome. It is assumed they possibly had young in the area which would account for the otters aggressive behavior. Nice video Emi!

I saw another person use flattened cardboard boxes to block the cold air coming in from the doors. I think otters and chickadees are the only creatures that enjoy a Canadian winter. Chickadees are always singing in a snowstorm, and otters like to slide on the ice. My dog and I were once approached by an otter wanting to play. Scared me to death.
