I feel ya with that extreme cold, Jack! I live in the U.S. now but I grew up on the south shore of Montreal in a little town called St. Lambert right on the St. Lawrence river. Wind and storms would come howling off the Atlantic, down the St. Lawrence - which is shaped like a funnel - and bounce off one of the locks which regulate water levels between the Atlantic and the Great Lakes. That ice cold air would blow into our town. When I was a child, Canada incorporated the Celcius system, so they would announce the temperature both in Farenheit and Celcius. 40° below zero was where the the two scales met and we would reach that occasionally. 20° below zero was common in the winter. You knew it was cold when you stepped outside and your nostrils immediately froze up. People had engine block heaters that they plugged in overnight or their engine blocks would freeze solid. So glad you and Ellie survived. Blessings to you and your whole beautiful family. Love your videos. As a former actor I can appreciate how many setups they take - especially when you're alone - and how much editing is involved.

I saw a guy build much less dangerous heater out of some candles and an ammo box for his snow mobile micro camper. The air that fed the candles was isolated from the inside air. He still had his monoxide sensor, but probably didnt need it. He was out there in -20f, -30f and it warmed his cabin up to 53f.

@@TinyCabinLife I am glad you are in a better place, your therapy certainly helps others. Often we create our own stress and it becomes auto-pilot (our subconscious), so turning that off takes a bit of conscious effort. Our minds are amazing. I’m in the Pacific Northwest and look out my window to beautiful forests, the sound and nature. I see deer and bald eagles in my yard. I need to use the outdoors even more, change of focus was in order. You are an inspiration. 👏 Hot coffee is different for me now. Yeti aluminum cups, they keep your beverages much hotter longer and colder. Recommend. $30 but worth it. I’ve got an AirBnB so if you find yourself out west you’ve got a place to stay.

I can hardly believe you braved the sub zero temps . Once when I was in college we went on a door knocking church campaign in Janesville, WI. All of us in the campaign were from west TN, AL, MS and AR. We didn’t have the clothes for windchills of -30, most people of thought we were the most rag tag group they had ever seen with our duct tape and trash bag shoes, with every piece of clothes we brought on knocking on their doors. We had a good revival though. Kudos to you for being brave. Funny side note- none of us had seen so much snow so we were dying to go snow tubing. We trespassed into a cow field and were almost arrested be/c we were making so much noise close to a neighbor hood. My tubing adventure was short lived when I went down a hill and ran into a barbed wire fence. Good old college days! Hope you got a new mat.

My “Poke Shack” is on my old landscape trailer(5x10 Sure Trac). I have family in MN. And it's weather like this that's the reason that I will never live there. The fact that y'all need to keep Hershey Bars and blankets in your trunk in case of a snowstorm. Good on you, but I'll stay on the east coast!

Haha it’s definitely not for everyone! 👍🏽

I know I'm the odd man out here but why why why would you go camping in an uninsulated, outhouse --sized box in zero degree weather? I love these videos too --- don't get me wrong --- but this is cray cray. I also love the doggie very much. 😍

If anybody can handle this, and MacGyver things to make things work, it definitely is you! I truly love you, man! Brice, from PDX. 💗🙏💗🙏💗🙏💗

How did you keep the battery on the bike from just cratering in that cold air?
@TinyCabinLife Жыл бұрын
I kept it inside when I wasn’t using it, but otherwise, I don’t know. Seemed to hold up well on my ride 👍🏽👍🏽
