To the west of Nairobi there is a town called Naivasha. There is lake called Lake Naivasha nearby, which happens to be a freshwater lake. It is one of the only sources of water for hundreds of miles around. On the lake there is a Coca-Cola manufacturing plant, and that is where most Coca-Cola in Kenya comes from. They take the water from Lake Naivasha, filter it, use it in their coke and dump the waste and pollution into the lake. Because of this, in Naivasha a bottle of water costs more than a bottle of Coca-Cola. This is the case for almost all of Kenya.

Except for the part that where he says Coke is terrible for you. Yeah, in excess. There is no one food that causes obesity. Thats like saying buying clothes is the cause of debt. Well yeah, if you spend more than what you have and you happen to spend it on clothes as opposed to something else. Gaining weight is simply the result consuming excess calories above your daily energy expenditure. This can be acheived with any food

TheAzachiel Sugar does not cause obesity. Sugar has calories like all other foods. If you consume too many calories you gain weight. You can eat sugar without consuming too many calories. Same concept with McDonalds.

I grew up liking the taste of coca cola and it was a luxury to have one maybe once a month. Then when We were teens, it became available inexpensively with all other carbonated drinks in 2 L bottles, and we drank a lot of it. I’m now 60 and I haven’t drank any for more than 20 years, and almost none for 40 years. I’m still slim, Most Americans drink a lot of soft drinks with a lot of sugar, and look at the health consequences you can see it in their waistline.

"Get your own water from desalination" Any idea how much more C)2 that would generate? Incredible amounts of energy and greenhouse gas emissions. Desalination would easily be more harmful to the environment-at-large than simply draining aquifers. We already have regional governments which are supposed to restrict corporate exploitation and support the well-being of their electorate. Further, the people themselves have the choice to drink or not drink Coke. To work or not work at it's factories or to inform others of its negative effects. Persecuting Coke won't fix their corruption or fix the problems as a whole. If your government sells your country to be exploited, then the problem is with your government. Like Hilary giving Russia control of 20% of US Uranium production via Uranium One while her foundation received some 200 million dollars in 'donations' from them.

Coca Cola still uses coca leaves in the process, it's one of the flavor extracts used in the product. The plant material is processed by the Stepan company which sells the alkaloids to the pharmaceutical industry and provides Coca Cola with cocaine free coca leaves.

Glad to know some tidbits of facts here that I didn't know before. _My grandpa and two of his brothers each worked for Coca-Cola for more than 40 years._ _I used to roam around the plant seeing those empty bottles speeding along conveyors filled up by fresh new Coke drinks. Have lots of fun memories then. We're also get to have Coke toys and giveaways most often even before they're out in the market. Brand loyalty is so strong and welded by family ties. I was able to drink a competing brand only when I was already in my 1st year in College._ *_Can't Beat the Feelin'!_*
