From what I know, playing guitar actually eliminates Parkinsons or similar effects while playing, because the parts of the brain used for that are not affected. This is why Johnny Cash could play guitar without shakes. And its probably the same reason why those with a stutter have no stutter when singing.

I personally know, I was a bass player for 30 years and was diagnosed 4 years ago with Parkinson's and can no longer play. The man is inspirational!
