Ayy up! Cheers for having a look :D Well it was Jonathon from My 24 hour adventure that actually said I should tag you and get you to give it a go, so I think you should definitely consider it :D There is a bit of shock at first but 30 seconds will fly by! The perfect opportunity to just give it a try :)

Well over 30 seconds there! Good job. I was down by the coast yesterday and fully intended to take the plunge. But I chickened out. The tide was too far out and it felt like too big a challenge with strong currents etc. But I like the bath idea - maybe I'll give that a go 😊
@JRPOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Safety first for sure man! It's a wall you have to break down for sure the first time you do it but if you focus on breathing and get past the first initial shock, 30 seconds will breeze by! You've got this man!
@Abspro504 жыл бұрын
I've been wanting to try this for ages but haven't had the guts to. We're up at Lady Bower quite often as we only live in Leeds so wild camping is something we'll be doing there. Good on you! 👍

Amazing effort! I did a wild swim at Scales Tarn, underneath Blencathra 2 years ago, which was absolutely Baltic and that was on a hot day, in mid summer, I do not know how you do it! I get the warming up when you come out but warming up before you go in - will that not make it worse when you first go in? Cheers Alan
@JRPOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Hey Alan 👍🏼 I felt like this too before I started but the benefits after are too bloody good to stop. The warm up before helps keep your core temperature high as when you hit the cold water, your body naturally keeps the warm blood at your core. I’v found doing it helps me reduce the shock along with controlled breathing. Clever stuff. Check out Wim Hoff and his techniques 👍🏼👍🏼

As long as the sea isn't too rough, swimming in the sea is great! It also tends to be a couple of degrees warmer than rivers and fresh water pools. Give it a go eh!
