I have no problem with advantages. I think they its an effective scoring criteria and the best way to avoid constantly going to refs decision. However, the way these IBJJF refs actually score an advantage is super subjective and never consistant. We need a new way to be more definitive about what constatutes an advantage. These fights cant keep being decided by judges generously granting advantages for weak attempts and near passes which were no where close.

Makes you wonder why were these two not seeded at opposite ends of the bracket? I understand the IBJJF points ranking system, but competition outside of IBJJF is completely ignored in the bracket seeding and that should not be the case. Gabriel gave Cole his toughest match of the tournament...in the quarterfinals.
