So, two years ago, Death Battle ran a ballot for their Channel Members that allowed them to select two episodes that the show would produce next season. You've already seen the first of their selections, Bill Cipher VS Discord. And this was the second of them. This was largely chosen because it was a legacy matchup; a battle that was often requested around Season 2, and the crew only didn't do it because they didn't have the means to create the type of animation such a matchup would require.
