Save your best players for your stronger opponents , Chelsea have been using B teams in the likes of FA cups and Europa leagues for decades now, this is no different.

He has been playing a lot of minutes and they don't want him to get injured. So he will be rested. It's standard practice at all the big clubs. But what they would never do is completely drop vini from the squad. Just assuming Chelsea will beat 6 European teams when they struggle to regularly beat anyone is so arrogant. Are they much better than gent and Panathinaikos on paper? Yes of course. Will they easily beat them? No, not sure. Chelsea rarely beat anyone easily. Even with their best players. It's this sort of thing that has Chelsea floundering in the euro conference league in the first place. And you don't need to tell me to relax mate. I'm just slagging off Chelsea's terrible decisions on the Internet. I'm perfectly calm. This is what I do to relax, I talk football.

@@NeilLewis77 They do it, because it's Conference League (finishing Top-4 in Premier is much more important) and it's even Top-8 (gets a BYE) and 9th-24th advance into next round so it's pretty easy being in Top-24 for Chelsea (the heck even Top-8 should happen with almost any players Chelsea have). Not sure, if you will even earn 10M from winning Conference League while teams in Champions League would get 10M just by showing up into League Phase. Also no one in Champions League would do this as money prize is just way much higher than in Conference League. Europa League might be 50/50, if someone would do it.

There are lots of competition and games this season for the club and they don't want Palmer getting fatigued before the end of the season like Bellingham etc. Apart from the domestic and European games Chelsea is looking to win the inaugural club World Cup too because they feel now is the best time to win it as other teams are still dragging their feet and would likely field their weaker teams. The club world Cup comes with 80 mill prize money, more like a mini Champions league. There's a plan, calm down.
