Went to see them live last night in Sheffield England. Absolutely Amazing. An outstandingly talented arranger and Orchestra leader, an outstandingly talented collection of musicians and singers all playing music by the most outstandingly talented songwriter whoever lived. Perfect night!

The Big Six: Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter and Harold Arlen. Cole Porter said once that he composed the song 'My Heart Belongs to Daddy' in a "Jewish mode" given the preponderance of Jews on Broadway/song composing. No wonder: he was the only gentile of the six!
