Beautiful story. My parents met and married in 6 weeks. They stayed married for over 30 years. Unfortunately Dad pass away in his early 60's and Mom followed 12 years later. You two's little story reminded of my parents relationship. Appreciate each other's Strengths and Love each other's Faults.

Cole I have a huge respect for you, for getting married, for doing it right, and not messing around. A wife that has love, and respect for you, a one up to four years older is PERFECT. If she is loving, and respecting, she will not boss you, and her being older will be a huge help. Mine is 5 years younger and I was tired of waiting for her to mature, and start showing it. Finally it happened, she opened as pretty, quite a sage of a lady, but I had to quite wait. I knew that loving, and older than me is better, but due to the stuff I went through in life, I married at 29. By that time many girls were gone, married, and I feel blessed that God gave me what I have today. She took time to mature, my wife, but she is an awesome spouse today, and I am finally happy. Yours was a perfect timing, well done!

I am an old man, but I know a good thing when I see it, and you two are a great thing. Your fishing together is a real fun thing. I have always wanted my wife to fish with me, but she absolutely refuses. It is refreshing to see a couple who are so involved with each other. I just seen your video, I enjoy your episodes. I can top your engagement. I met my wife on Feb 20th, on March 15th I asked her hand in marriage. We married on May 7th of the same year.....76 days from the time we met to husband and wife. We’ve been married for 32 years and she just passed away this last February. The first year was rough, but after that it’s been a wonderful life. There’s no real secret to a successful marriage...... you just have to love one another more and more every day.

I've never seen two people more perfect for each other than you two. I've watched this video three or four times, because I like to bust loose a happy tear or two now and then. I'm 62 years old, never married, because i never found a girl who liked fishing, and snakes and lizards, and all sorts of critters, and running around in the woods and creeks and lakes, near as much as I did. Maybe in my next life I'll find her. You're family is awesome. My wife and I were from the same small town but never really hung out. We met up at Penn State about six years after high school and immediately connected; 38 years, three kids and four grandkids later we're still going strong. As for the pet peeves..my wife also leaves everything open, still...after 38 years! So Cole, be prepared to close up a lot of cabinet doors and drawers. I will get stuff out and put it back as soon as I'm done using it even if there are others who may need it...hey, I'm not a mind reader. Your story is very similar to ours. We met while in the army, stationed in Cali, but we didn't start dating until about three months before we were to move to our next assignment. Two weeks after we started dating I asked her to marry, and we were married about three weeks later. We had a wonderful 39.5 years together before she passed last fall. You know one of the best things in your story, is the similarities between the two of you. So many men marry for, I won't say the wrong reason, but a partially right reason may be a nicer way to put it. I have always said the best things a couple can have is similarities. Do not let fishing or hunting or any other thing become your mistress. Make sure you both have the same interests, or are at least the will to learn and the rest will follow along.
