That wasn't a mistake on y'all's part, it was a accident. You had his life jacket on him and you were very attentive in making sure he was safe. He shook that off real quick and hopefully he'll remember this and remember no means no. Great video and I am so happy to see positive comments from everyone. We can't bubble wrap our kids and expect them to deal with things that happen. He was protected with his life jacket and so very sweet after he fell in. Spent my childhood on a lake and loved every minute even when I fell out of the boat or off the dock.

Mine is grown now, but your point is so spot on. I was BBQ one Sat evening and kept telling him, don't touch it the BBQ pit, its hot, not even thinking he was too young to know what "hot" meant. Well I turned around for a split second and he found out what "hot" meant, the hard way. Unfortunately its a big part of how they learn., and like you said, no means no.

Great reflexes , you got him back in so fast he probably didn't even know what happened. We had a few accidents when our kids were young. Our oldest didn't learn from his mistakes. Any chance he got he would go straight in the water on purpose, that's what those jackets are for. He'll learn to listen. You two are great parents ❤️ . Lessons learned are not always easy...for anyone. I can imagine that you were shaking for a while afterward, but the little guy seems to have taken it in stride pretty well. Zero to 90 in a heartbeat... You do the very best you can to protect them, guide them, teach them and they go and launch themselves overboard. Hang in there guys...the fun is just beginning.

I think it's awesome y'all are getting him started early enjoying the great outdoors. My twin sister and I love to fish also, we love being outside whenever we can. We both have MS and other health problems but we try to stay as active as possible. We love God's beautiful world, activities like fishing gives your mind a brake from the stress of daily problems. Bless your hearts. Mine fell in a pool with 30 people around. Little stink pot dog paddled to the side and when her Dad picked her out of the water, she had a fit to go back in. We had to watch her like a hawk. I do not know how my heart lasted through those years.

Although I didn't fish much, I did a lot of canoeing and took both of my children, and they loved it. If the water was warm, I let my kids float there for about 15 seconds so that they learned to trust their life jacket and to realize that they were OK. It wasn't long before falling in was no big deal to them....but it did become harder to keep them in the boat! We always wore PFDs, both adults and children and never went onto the water without them. Now I'm taking my grandkids.

What a fun day in the backwaters with a paddle around and some nice fish ... that last one was a true Lunker .... a scare for sure ,, but having a PFD on ,as always required for children , will certainly be the winner ,, it happens SO fast ,, and even while you are looking directly at them ... Cole ,, Jay and Cypress ,, thanks for a show we can all learn from .... Hope the new baby didn't get to much of an adrenaline rush ,,, gonna have to get a center cross seat and rig up a seat belt ...... Stay Safe and God Bless ....
