GIANT Fish SMOKED Me At The Boat! ( CATCH, CLEAN & COOK Bass!!! )

Today, we are out on one of my favorite lakes chasing down some aggressive fish! We have perfect fishing weather and the fish are going insane! When we moved from Miami, Florida to Anadarko, Oklahoma in 1981, I hung up my surf rods and started fishing with ultralight rods and reels! I've caught bigger fish and more big fish than ever! My best, so far, is a 16 lb. flathead in a 5' ultralight rod and 6 lb. mono line! It took 45 minutes to land it! Now that's fun!

I need to come north a little ways and get you to teach me how to catch some bass. I've fished for years and you are a much better fisherman than I am. I catch some at times but I am nowhere near consistent. I fished a tournament this weekend. I caught about 11 or 12 fish but only one over 15 inches (keeper size on Chicot). I did have a bigger one on but it broke the line. I need some lessons.

We are equally devastated. If they weren’t planning on draining it completely, we wouldn’t be messed up about it at all, but the idea of them emptying a top 5 lake in the state teeming with fish and wildlife to start over is horrifying.

I don’t really like to keep more than what I need. We keep our friends and family stocked up on fish. Whenever anyone says they want some, we keep for them. Otherwise we like to keep what we can eat fresh without freezing.

Please continue to err on the side of caution. Other fisherman can learn from that. There’s always someone at home that would rather have you with them than taking too big of a risk for more fish or a better video.
