I filed down the screw and hit around 37 mph. I'm gonna remove that spring tomorrow and see what happens. Thanks for the tips bro!

That's awesome, by removing that spring you will gain a good 3 miles an hour so you'll be in the 40 club. LOL

@@diztince-471 I will say it is alot of fun even for me and I have a motorcycle.haha..So yes ,as long as he knows this isn't to go on big main roads he will be fine..I bought this to teach my 10 year old son some basic skills.and he has learned alot on this .

I have one and I was checking things out pulled the carb there's about a 20mm intake port with a 15mm carb butter fly I'd like to try a 19mm carb but that could be a touch to big

I'm thinking of getting a different Coleman mini bike, one that has the 200cc engine. If I remove the throttle spring will the throttle still go back to idle position? Or will it stick to full throttle?

I think it has a different carb and linkage setup so I cant really say if it will work the same as this one does.

Do You think if I take off the return spring the throttle will be able to return? If I just bend out the limiter screw do You think it will be able to hit 40 even with the spring still on there.

With the spring on their it will not hit 40 I think I did about 32-33 with the spring still on. My throttle has not had any issues of snapping back without the spring

when you take off the spring you tighten that screw that is connected to it right

Yes..once you remove the spring, pull and hold the cable tightly through that screw/ bolt and tighten.if I understand what you are asking.

Is that throttle stop screw the same thing as the throttle limiter screw on a rb100

I think they have different engines completely so I would say its probably not the same setup.

Did this to mine today and I only got up 37.5 mph. I have an aftermarket air filter and am getting a exhaust pipe in about a week. Do you think I'll be able to get up to 40mph with the exhaust pipe?

I gained a solid 2mph when I put on the pipe..the factory muffler is very restrictive..make sure the tires are about 30psi..fresh oil..and the throttle opens completely..it will do it!

No..that spring ensures 100% that the throttle will snap back from the manufacturer..by removing it you take away that safety but I've been running it for this long now and never an issue with it snapping back.just be sure it's pulled tight when you tighten the screw back after removing the spring and check the throttle.

The spring is what makes the throttle cable retract, without it, the throttle cable will just kinda get stuck and not retract, it has nothing to do with the govenor

Not completely true...while it doesn't effect the governor it does allow the last little bit of the throttle to open 100% to get every bit of speed..and I have never had the throttle stick ooen..and you can just roll the throttle closed.

@@Trains_n_stuff08 I have not removed the governor..I have seen videos of people that have and it's not good. The engine will no doubt Rev until it blows up..that was not my Intention. I just wanted to see how fast we could go😁

You don't have to remove the spring. If you do,you will get 100% open throttle..the spring bunches up a little keeping the throttle from opening completely.

@@Hesham2008A how did you adjust the cable? Make sure the throttle lever is towards the front of the bike before titening the nut on the cable. If you titened the cable with the lever towards the back of the bike it would be wide open as soon as you started the motor.

Do u remember the exact name of your header

Mine is called a 2 stage header pipe for the cc100x..but the seller on ebay I purchased from isnt on there anymore..there are some similar ones..just type in header pipe coleman cc100x or ct100u they use the same engine.

@@kencolle1 what you did isn't that bypassing the governor, so isn't it originally able to go that fast but they put that screw there to keep the speed under control so it don't go to fast

@@user-gb6lm3yk2h yes but I also removed the spring that's on the throttle cable so it opens completely 100% now. If you just Bend the tab with the screw back it will go faster but still be on the safe side

That's not possible...did you bend the tab? Did you remove the correct screw?. I didn't remove the screw just bent the tab out of the way.
