The screw on top is just a throttle stop. Not the governor. Make a new throttle linkage from a coat hanger and run it to where the cable pulls the lever and it’s bypassed. Keep in mind that at max rpm your pulling against the governor and return springs.

I just cut off the governor screw on mine and I hit 40 no problem way easier than bypassing it

Hayden Moyer that can be done successfully for a short time. Just like me bypassing it with linkage. Which was literally bending a metal clothes hanger to fit between carb and throttle instead of carb to governor arm. But with this quick ways you run the risk of the plastic governor gear exploding at those higher rpms and you don’t want solids floating around inside the crankcase on any engine. I eventually removed governor gear completely. And then ended up putting a slightly built predator 212 from harbor freight on it. Still only goes around 40-45 tops depending on weight of rider. But it gets there much faster than that little 3 hp it came with stock.

Hey this is no lie! Ive got a cc100x. Ive only bent the screw out of the way(governor), but added a performance carb, carb stack and filter, intake breather, muffler/pipe, lucas stabilizer, and a ngk plug. I did 40mph on FLAT ground with me being 180lbs and carrying a 35ish lbs tact back pack, with 90% throttle.

No. Probably hit 34-36mph on flat ground driver weight etc low humidity and temperature, elevation etc all are variables. Going down hill gives unrealistic results that dont replicate on flat ground. Still fun to drive.

I hit 36-37 on flat with the stock motor. It’s got a slightly built predator now. Hits 40-45 flat ground depending on whose riding it. And pulls 40 pretty consistently even uphill. Gets there much faster too. Deff best upgrade I could’ve done. Hell of a lot more fun now.

On my ct100u I bypassed the governor removed the throttle stop removed the springs that binds up when you give it gas but on an aftermarket air filter and it only hits 26 can someone help me

JR Armstead already pulled the 3hp and put a 6.5 predator. Did some upgrades to it and now she’s pulling 45mph pretty steady. Even on slight uphill

You can also zip tie the spring that is already in place (keeps the spring from stretching) and it will give the same outcome

Luv Dev was a slight downhill. Would get to around 36-37 on flat. And 33 uphill. Just took a while to get there. It’s got a slightly built predator on it now though. Still around same top speed. But gets there a hell of a lot faster

Just bypassed governor arm throttle linkage with some clothes hanger and cut bigger holes in air box for this vid. Now it’s got bigger engine all together. Bought a predator 212 and have just about everything upgraded except for internal parts now. It’s doing 45mph consistently and pulls hard from stop. Even gets close to 45 uphill. Once I start adding billet aluminum internal parts I’m shooting for 65-70mph. Honestly have put more money into this little thing than I’d care to admit but it’s too addicting. Going that fast on something that small shouldn’t happen and that’s what makes these so fun.

@@SALMANDER33 stock clutch was only 5/8ths the predator is 3/4. But only rode on stock engine for a couple weekends. Maybe 8hrs total put on original engine. It is deff an addiction....that’s fun to have at least.

DeVonte' Mitchell governor was bypassed. And cut slats out of air box. Still has stock sprockets on it as well. Although I’ve now got a slightly modified predator on there
