I helped my grandson speed up his little ct100U by adjusting the throttle limiter screw. Yes it was welded. I cut about one quarter inch off and that was all that it needed to open up to full throttle. However he was insistent that it needed more speed so HE zip-tied the governor spring. I believe it reached 100 MPH. Well, after blowing up the motor and rolling it off a cliff. So, now he's the proud owner of my little Honda 125 monkey................and I got a new one!!!!!! Moral of the story, keep zip-ties away from young mini-bikes riders and U-tube shady tree mechanics. Hope this helps!!!!

I hate to tell you this now based on what you said, but I posted one of those ziptie videos. However, in my video of it, I did make mention of the potential harms of doing such, that you need to keep it under 5000rpm to be safe (you can monitor this with a $20 electronic tach). But when people get impatient and skip through a video, they miss these crutial bits of information. I got several "mine blew up" comments on that video, to which I replied skipping through the video and they never reply back lol. Likewise, I bet your grandson is happy it happened since he got a Honda Monkey 125 in exchange, because that is a heck of an upgrade! You are a cool grandpa, and the parents or gaurdian are pretty cool too (unless they don't know lol).

I bent screw back just as you did and I have the 2021 3.0hp and after bending gov back mine went from 22mpr to 39 completely stock. All I did was bend gov back all the way

Another good thing to do is engine swap it with the predator motor and bending that screw back I’ve token my bike to 40mph

I removed the spring and screw and mine is going 38-40. I weigh right about 160. The weight of the rider is a huge factor with these 3hp mini bikes

I can't hardly find anything for the 100. There are some exhaust and filter kits on ebay and amazon for them, haven't seen jets yet specifically for the 100. I saw one guy just upgraded the carb for more flow (amazon), so that might be the only option. I don't think anyone makes performance stuff for them because everybody just swaps the pradator 212 into them for $100 and doubles the power. So if you want more power, that's your best option.

Well as I discussed in the video there is still an internal governor that is still limiting it that could be removed, but then the engine will rev too high without preemtive measures being taken by replacing things like the rod, valve springs, and flywheel so that you can safely rev that high. Probelm is, I have yet to find anyone who produces those parts for this engine. You can add a performance air filter, jet, and exhaust to it which will help it make a little more power and accelerate faster, but you still have that governor stopping you from going any faster. But what you can do though is change the sprocket size which will gear it "up," which will give it a higher top speed even with the governor in place, provided you have enough power and are a light enough rider to get it going any faster. On the flip side this will make it accelerate slower, due to the taller gearing. But most people just swap a Predator 212 into these, which instantly doubles the power, and then you can buy all the performance parts in the world for it to make it go as fast as you want. I'm still working on this bike and will be posting more videos about making it faster over the next few months...

5'9" - the bigger ones are way more comfortable and I hope you payed attention to where I said this bike doesn't have enough motor for anyone over 150lbs. The larger ones have twice the power and are only $100 more; I bought this one for my 80lb daughter. Both. It allows you to go faster by allowing you to twist the throttle more. The zip tie thing, which I did a video on on one of the bigger bikes, bypasses the governor to allow the engine to rev higher to go faster- but you have to be careful doing this because if you rev the engine too high it can blow up. I discussed some of that in the zip tie video that I made, easily accessed on my minibike playlist on the channel...

Change how? Mine has the most modern rendering of it. The only difference I'm aware of is that you used to be able to back out the screw because it wasn't welded. Not so anymore...

If you only modify the throttle stop as I showed in this video, then you still retain the governor that protects it from reving too high. You can also get a digital tachometer from amazon or ebay or wherever that will show you your rpm. Not sure about this smaller angine, as there isn't much information about them out there, but for the 200's they say keep them under 5000rpm.

Does your coleman vibrate bad when taking off?

No. When they do that, it's usually the clutch. The owners manual shows you where to lubricate it and where not to. Other than that, take it apart and inspect for damage and clean any dirt and debris out of it. I'm not saying for 100% certain it's the clutch, but that's the first place to start as it is the most likely cause.

I can't say without seeing it but I'd say probably not- it's probably some sort of return spring and your throttle might stick if you remove it.

i did this to mine and it still only goes 23 mph i wish i rode it before i took the bolt off to see if it made a difference. its brand new from tractor supply. maybe i need to bypass that second governor

I bought mine new about 15 months ago, so maybe they changed something since then. The bikes older than mine never had the welded on screw, and they also didn't have the epa carb (for example). They keep changing crap on them...

Does anyone know why the throttle is so hard to pull back? I know you stated it in here but it don't make sense to me how this is for kids but it even hard for me to pull throttle all the way back and when I do hit top speed and let throttle go its hard to pull throttle back agean to maintain speed

Yeah it doesn't make any sense because their bigger models have a much lighter throttle. I tried lubricating everything but that didn't help. I ended up removing one of the springs to make it a lot lighter, but risk the throttle not returning and getting stuck. I too would like to know if anyone has an answer or better solution...

@@BuckeyeBallistics I took off the throttle housing and found the little plastic piece that the cable slides on the cable was off track. It's a little plastic piece. Works way better

In short, yes it's possible. On the other bikes when I remover the throttle stop, it only let them rev so high and then the internal governor still kicked in to keep them from revving too high. However, on this one (not realizing it initially), twisting the throttle back all the way (hard) after removal/bypass allowed this particular bike to overcome the internal governor and it was revving pretty high.

It's safe to remove the throttle stop because you still retain the governor, which won't allow the engine to rev too high. It's when you remove or bypass the *governor* that you could cause engine damage.

I ordered parts for the 200 on Amazon and Gopowersports.com and OMBWAREHOUSE.com but like you I haven't found much for the 100. I think OMB has parts for them.

From what I have seen, I'm just going to have to buy a universal filter and carb setup because the exhaust pipe is the only thing I have found that is actually labeled for fitting the 100. Or just cave and Pradator 212 swap it already. But I like the little engine it comes with and wanted to mess around with it first...

Not if it's a newer one, they have "epa" carbs that are locked up so people can't tinker with them. I think you can change the needle but you have to drill the old one out or some crap like that. Most people just buy a new carb. I don't do much minibike stuff- I would recommend you check out the channels "black66" and "fatbuddycat" as they were the best minibike channels I found when I was into it.

Weight? As I mentioned in the video, the weight limit for this bike is 150lbs, but it struggles in the grass with even my 130lb rider on it. Unless you are going to ride it on flat paved surfaces only, then I would really recommend getting the larger ones, of which I have two different models. You can see the others on my channel, easily accessed on the minibike playlist. The bigger ones are only about $100 more...
