That has nothing to do with the governor. What you did was bend back the throttle stop screw and remove the throttle return spring. You can bypass the governor by removing the linkage to the carbonator (linkage originally hooks up to the governor) and make a longer linkage out of coat hanger wire that goes to the throttle lever. My coleman goes 32mph after the bypass. The governor is actually a plastic sprocket inside the engine.

Y’all don’t need new springs. Once your move that screw it allows you to full throttle. A new spring ain’t gonna do nothing.

You don't have to do anything with the spring but it won't let you fully open and binds up. I'd rather not have the throttle get stuck open that's why I got rid of the spring and put another one on that bolt. Looking back on it I should have put a small one where the stock one was.

Yes don’t mess with the spring. Because once you move that screw it allows you to full throttle so a spring I just waisting your time.

yea the governor is inside the actual engine, very easy to remove just remove the black part over it. and what i did was simply take a screw driver and smashed up the governor gear
