@Black662 жыл бұрын
Ya, seems like they are pretty decent .
@Deucealive752 жыл бұрын
Curtis. A quick look at a speed calc suggests that with a TC and 40 tooth he was running 3200 RPM at 50 mph. If the bike were left this way there's no need for heavier valve springs. The 3200 RPM is what most get when they install a TC on a Coleman 200 with a mainly stock engine and gearing. Some of us have geared our bikes opposite of what you see here for higher RPM. As an example, I geared my bike for 30 mph and under trail riding with a TC and 9/60 sprockets. Yet, with a near stock 196 governed to 5K RPM I top the bike out on the road at 47 mph. With stock Coleman gearing I would lose at least 5 mph because there's more power (HP) at 4500 rpm+ to drive the load than at 3200 rpm.
@Black662 жыл бұрын
@@Deucealive75 I have never upgraded valve springs on any of my coleman bikes. I have had them into the 50 MPH range with no internal modifications. They have a decent cam and spring package for a stock engine from the factory. With that being said on MY MB200 I have gained 8 MPH simply by changing out springs. I have a video coming on that. With all this being said. Just because something adds up on paper doesnt necessarily mean it always works out in real life.

@@Black66 Thanks for the relpy. I'll have to check it out. I have a CT-200U, the non-EX version. I'm guessing I should not straight chain it to keep the torque for off-road capabilities, like desert riding. Is this correct?

@@trashoperator9278 Yes, or maybe a torque converter. The bike will run in the 50's with a converter with the right combo and still have good low end torque.

Kind of new to this, but you mentioned several times about the clutch sprocket, switching from 40 to 35, and then mentioned something about the drive sprocket being 40 or 50T.... ummm isn't the #35 like the pitch and such, and wouldn't you need to chain the chain and rear sprocket to those specs? Or will they work together? Like #35 or 420 or 428? I just thought it all had to be the same "not the number of teeth" obviously.

I Have a stock motor and top speed is 35 mph but gear ratio is 6.25 ? what should my gear ratio be to get top speed
@Black663 жыл бұрын
Not sure what type of bike you have or what the drive Sproket clutch sprocket or tire height is but if you drop that ratio down a little it should be faster. For example, if you are running a 12 tooth clutch and a 75 drive sprocket now, and swap the clutch out for a 15 tooth that would get you to a 5 to 1 ratio. Might be a little slower taking off but would get you more top speed.

Picked up a ct200uex with a bone stock predator 224 max performance motor. Stock gearing and jack shaft. Removed throttle stop screw and zip tied governor. 29 mph top speed. Auto lite plug and .34 jet it ran very strong and accelerated fast. Added a pipe intake and filter and .38 jet. It killed acceleration. Now running .34 jet with a stock filter and airbox pipe and auto lite plug and it rips with no pop on decel. Clueless why this engine doesn’t like mods. Would like more top speed. Came with a 50 tooth rear sprocket which I think is stock. Also pollution evap box and hoses and oil switch are removed. Please help. Thanks.

If the engine is tight and the chain is tensioned, sometimes the weights hang up in the driver. If you pull it off and use graphite dry lube in there it usually will smooth things out.
