Great interview with Coleman. He has been so generous with his time and with his thoughts to both Field of 68 and now Sleepers Media. I appreciate his transparency and agree with his decision to go elsewhere as an Illini fan. There was no need for him to play out of position for another year and hopefully, K State will showcase him to another level and elevate his draft stock

Happy my $100 went towards a Coleman jersey for Greg. Great interview. But c'mon man, TSJ's jersey without a doubt belongs in the rafters. He had the greatest single season in Illinois history.

Interesting that part of his decision was due to his knee issues. That was a smart decision not only money wise but also to get healthy, which he wouldn't have done had he been playing in summer league in a few weeks

Great interview. Hawkins seems like a decent guy, but he’s crazy to think Illinois would’ve beaten UConn in another game. I was there, and they were run out of the building, and were completely outclassed. Any change in strategy would’ve just been countered by Hurley, and wouldn’t have made a difference.

Both Illinois and Hawkins made a mistake that they will be okay from but there is going to be some regret I think. Another year would’ve given Hawkins a chance to have his jersey up in the rafters and that’s going to be much more valuable to Hawkins than the additional amount in his NIL bag 25 years from now.

How? 1 3RD Team All Big 10. That’s it for personal accolades. He’s a good player and program guy, but goodness. Might as well turn jersey retirements into a participation trophy if he belongs in the rafters. Weak
