Ahhh, i didn't realize Dr. Dre wasn't creating everything on all his beats even tho i knew Scott Storch played some of his most iconic piano parts. I guess because Dre seems to get most the credit. Awesome video man! I enjoy these conversational type of videos. Keep it up! 👍

Wow, Crucial Conflict, that takes me back! Haha. I never did much punching in until recently, when I finally got tired of trying to be a hero and record a whole verse in one continuous take with every detail I wanted executed perfectly. Nowadays I sometimes even record 4 bars at a time just so I can concentrate on getting those nuances taken care of without it feeling like a marathon. If Dre can do it one bar at a time with Eazy, surely I can do 4 bars LOL. Re: mastering. I just want to mention how albums are less frequently done but mastering is still important. Aside from getting a consistent listening experience, it can treat things like removing low end side (of m/s) information /tightening the low end mid, enhance the stereo of the high end by processing the side info there, sibilance/harshness with de-essing, all this going into a compressor/limiter/saturation/EQ allow them to process the audio more effectively. You could go back into the mix stage and find all the contributing factors in those issues but I find it much easier and more effective to treat this at the master buss because it really helps to make it sound more cohesive. Another great video! Gonna check out that "punching in" video now!
I didn't know about Mastering Engineer or Record Producer. What's crazy to me is these are five roles are only for creating the music. It doesn't cover the business side at all. Like promoting, distributing, branding, etc.

Exactly Glenn! There's sooooo many roles in the totality of the entire picture. Yeah mastering these days are often included in the mixing, and plus it's more common for artists to release singles one at a time instead of waiting for an entire project to be done, then master, then release. I'm glad you were able to pick up a few new things from this video. Thanks for watching and commenting! Enjoy your weekend! ✌😎 - Cole Mize

Do you think practicing rapping 8 to 10 hours is beneficial or putting that much time in would harm you in the end?
@leni3395 Жыл бұрын
trust me 8-10 hours is hustling, if i already see progress by freestyling randomly during my day and writing lyrics to beats for 2 hours at night IMAGINE what 8-10 hours can do for you
