my producer doesnt let me punch in he just says "i think its better to have the verse in one take"
@AwetisticlyPerfect5 жыл бұрын
MattOxi yes i think it sounds awesome when i punch im because then i can controll my delivery, before i had high quality beats i punched in and it worked perfect for me, so im kinda frustrated but i dont wanna hate because i need a producer because i dont have my own studio yet
@k.trice_10955 жыл бұрын
That's why you should be you're own producer lol
@AwetisticlyPerfect5 жыл бұрын
MattOxi yeah well i recently got to be in my fathers studio and he has this guy there that makes beats and he has the stuff i can record with and all that so i guess he is an enginer/producer, he sits in the chair and presses record

The reason I don't punch in is because when you perform live, you can't solo a track like that however its possible to do it with friends on stage. It's great for a track you have no intention of performing though.

Amazing video!! Punching in can make your verses sound incredible, that would never be possible if done in one single take. The major issue is, if you are a beginner rapper like me, then it is extremely hard to match tone/energy/inflection for the punch ins as well as keep your timings and articulation in check. Alis
@ColeMizeStudios5 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Alis! So true! I'm going to be doing more videos in the future that go into more depth about some of the things you mentioned. Quality recordings take time, even me with all of my years of experience, still spend around 30 minutes recording this verse! lol! Beginner? I don't know about that! lol! Thanks for watching Alis! You rock! 😎✌️- Cole Mize

I have a very serious question. All throughout my life music was always my escape. Never thought about making it. 2 months ago I decided to get into rapping. I bought a mic with a stand, a pop filter, and a new macbook. Because of my past experiences with life, my mind is very quiet. My mind is wandering but I'm not thinking on ONE thing. It's like I'm living in the present moment, in a complete way. I can't think about what’s to write about, I have a hard time painting mental pictures, and I don't know how to get back into my head and get to flowing. It sounds crazy but I can't word it any better. Do you or anyone reading the comments have any advice?
@bfkthaartist61485 жыл бұрын
I’m having the opposite effect. I can’t get out of my head and looking to get thoughts out. My advice that I give to you is go out and live life then write about those experiences. Good luck 💪🏾

Hey, I have quite similar state of mind however I found myself being able to enter the "clear mind" where I can ride any wave of thoughts for as long as Im feeling it in a most discrete places. A place that represents this for me is when Im showering, idk if its the hot water or the fact that im never disturbed but I just let the water flow and Im able to think and write stuff that I actually feel good about. Honestly any other time I write something it feels "too forced" and just not really something that I'd feel satisfied sharing. Only downside of that is the water bill :D. Write your ideas as you go throughout your day cuz you never know what might trigger a brainstorm for you. Anyway, good luck with your journey, once you get yourself on the right page it just becomes a matter of practice. Behind everything that you simply call talent is enormous amount of dedication, time and effort so if you really want it you have to put in yours.

great video, I need to figure out how to record and edit better, I'm using audacity, and I got latency issues that take a lot of time trying to slide the recordings into the right spot. I need help finding step one for figuring all that out.

Thanks Glenn! You likely need to lower your buffer settings to 512. I'm not sure what your current setup it is, but I've shared lots of knowledge on my website about how to get your studio up and running on a budget which you can check out at colemizestudios.com/ I hope this helps! The professional term for it is "punching in" but there's lots of slang used in the studio. As long as the person you're working with, knows what your talking about, that's all that matters. 😎✌️- Cole Mize
