It doesn’t seem like it should be possible. However my issue with covers is that people don’t really give credit to the genius of the creation. The fact someone can play it is impressive, but the fact someone had the creativity and the ability to play it the first time is 100% more interesting.

@@Stepher45 And this was the first song on their first album with a major record label, was it not? So yes, their creativity in making this song was ridiculous. Three guitarists playing together to make the song what it is? Come on man. I can't even imagine the amount of dedication and commitment it took you to learn this originally. I've been playing guitar for about 13 years and there's still no way I could ever come close to this, though I've never tried lol. This is hours and hours of practice, taking each section at a time, and then perfecting the techniques used in each individual segment so that you can be as accurate as possible when it comes time to record the cover. This level of accuracy in ANY cover of this song is practically unheard of. I've never heard anyone do it this good and as a guitar player, I take pride in my ears. I'm willing to bet the guys that WROTE the song would struggle to play it this cleanly today, even in a studio setting. This is special man. Congratulations on a job well done.

I don't think this song gets enough credit. it's so unbelievably technical and uses such a variety of guitar shredding techniques but is also coherent and very beautiful. it's intricately and intentionally arranged and nearly impossible sounding and give it a man like this to perform it and well It just leaves you awestruck.

For those who want to get an idea for how hard some of the parts of this song is around 30% of the song has 13 ish notes PER SECOND. Some of those are arpegiated which is without a doubt the hardest part. Then there are the random pinch harmonics popping up everywhere in between tapping and wammy dives. All in all this song is definitely a beginners song!

Through The Fire And Flames (lyrics) On a cold winter morning In a time before the light. In flames of death's eternal reign, We ride towards the fight. When the darkness has fallen down and the times are tough alright The sound of evil laughter, Falls around the world tonight. Fightin' hard, fightin' on for the steel, Through the wastelands evermore. The scattered souls will feel the hell, bodies wasted on the shores. On the blackest plains in hell's domain, We watch them as they go. In fire and pain, and once again we know. So now we fly ever free, We're free before the thunderstorm. On towards the wilderness, Our quest carries on. Far beyond the sun down, far beyond the moonlight. Deep inside our hearts and all our souls. So far away we wait for the day, For the lives all so wasted and gone. We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days, Through the fire and the flames we carry on As the red day is dawning and the lightning cracks the sky. They'll raise their hands to the heavens above With resentment in their eyes. Running back through the midmorning light, there's a burning in my heart. We're banished from a time in the fallen land, To a life beyond the stars. In your darkest dreams see to believe our destiny this time And endlessly we'll all be free tonight And on the wings of a dream so far beyond reality. All alone in desperation, now the time has gone. Lost inside you'll never find, lost within my own mind, Day after day this misery must go on. So far away we wait for the day, For the lives all so wasted and gone. We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days, Through the fire and the flames we carry on Whooaaaaa, Whoooaaaaa, Whooooaaaoooaaooo (x2) Now here we stand with their blood on our hands. We fought so hard, now can we understand. I'll break the seal of this curse if I possibly can. For freedom of every man. So far away we wait for the day, For the lives all so wasted and gone. We feel the pain of a lifetime lost in a thousand days, Through the fire and the flames we carry on!
