This man is correct. 10 years ago I developed Parkinson symptoms that I believe were triggered by Cipro toxicity with poor diet and lifestyle setting the stage. The doctors had no cure and I suffered nearly 2 years until I learned and decided to adopt a ketogenic diet. It took another two years to heal and I have never looked back! This 57-year old now enjoys better health than I did in my 20's!!! I take no medications, I have no chronic pain. CURED!

I did ketosis, lost weight but then ended up putting on weight eventually and felt really sick. When I went on a low fat whole food plant based diet I lost 15 kg easily and feel awesome. My husband’s insulin sensitivity increased so much on the low fat wfpb diet and as he is a type 1 diabetic so this is quantifiable. On the keto diet he ended up with quadruple bypass op. So much conflicting ‘evidence’ ... from studies. I’ve listened to totally opposite advice from other doctors and their studies. Processed sugar isn’t good I agree. Whole foods have been shown to not spike insulin and that includes whole grains and fruits have many anti cancer properties. Meat promotes high IGF and there are studies to show that high protein causes cancer. So important to read widely and listen widely.

Take a look at Mastering Diabetes to reverse insulin resistance for your husband. They have a website, book, Facebook page and instagram page. Both of the authors of this book have type 1 diabetes. I don't think so. Fruit contains antioxidants and fiber so the glycemic index is lower than bread and pasta (maybe except some like grapes and watermelon), but none of the fruit sucks up minerals like whole wheat bread and other grain products do. So eat fruit in moderation.
@elizabethtencer79502 жыл бұрын

I go with simple a low-carb diet. Just avoid foods high in sugars or carbs especially refined sugars like breads, pastas, cookies, pizza, etc. and high sugary beverages. Eat good carbs but of moderation. That itself is a key to avoiding lots of diseases and keeping healthy weight. This is aside from eating nutrient-densed foods! High fat diet like Ketogenic may be good but the issue with fats is that there's more bad fats because mainstream Keto Diet is more on FRIED FOODS, and frying foods makes worst fats and Bad cholesterol.

Most of the chemicals that fight certain types of cancer are found in foods that are technically carbohydrates.
@martinirving38245 жыл бұрын
Nonsense. For sure, two things were targeted through the 20th century as "unhealthy" and to be minimized in the diet - Meat and alcohol. Here's the thing... both - have a low insulin index (beer notwithstanding). It's all about insulin. Once this is acknowledged, we begin to realize all the "expert" advice of the last 100 years indicted healthy traditional foods and made the (unsubstantiated) claim that processed and refined foods (sugars, grains, seed oils) were more healthy. The truth was literally turned upside down because it was all about money and profit.
