Agree. The ending was a total bummer. Mitch was a seriously broken soul from the start. When things escalate between him & Charlotte I was like "awesome! I see happy ending". And then he died, and I was like "WTF!" LOL. Not what i expected.

I felt the same about the ending. I have this policy on movies based on books - never read them before I see the film. Film always disappoint, in comparison. I guess when they have to fit over 300 pages of stuff into limited 2 hrs film, naturally there will be massive cut and dramatic changes for commercial value.
