@@donovandumas4320 he wasn’t fired, he opted out of the last year of his contract. He had an opportunity to play for the Ravens, but insulted the owner and Ray Lewis so they pulled their offer. He had a chance to play for the Dolphins, but wore a Fidel Castro shirt when the team has a largely Cuban fan base. He had a chance to play for another team and wore pig socks. That’s not being blackballed, that’s being stupid. After that he sued the NFL, but settled the lawsuit. So the narrative he is blackballed is false. What corporation can you sue then ask them for a job? He’s not a victim.

But you have to also consider that he hasn't been sacked and pummeled for the past 5 years. So age-wise and health-wise, compared to active QB's, he's only been gone for like 3 years. And btw, QB's can last WAY longer than 5 years. Look at old man Brady and many others who played much longer than 5 years.

Most jobs today, the interviewer puts you through key scenarios related to what you will face on the job to see how you might perform before they hire you. I’ve gone through this, and people I have hired have gone through this. Gone are the days where you simply send in your résumé and you get hired based on that résumé. Maybe a better comparison would be Tommie Smith and John Carlos at the 1968 Mexico Olympics. Their hand raised fists were a “silent gesture” but heard around the world. Yes, Ali spoke his truth. But, a statement can sometimes be made without uttering a word. Just my opinion.

@One shot deal You make a fair point about Kaepernick capitalizing off his notoriety because of his position on social and police injustice. That does tarnish his image of being a martyr. I don’t disagree with that opinion. However, I don’t think it takes away from his efforts to shine a light on social and police injustice. Curt Flood wasn’t the greatest baseball player but, he was instrumental in Free Agency. Again, just my opinion. You do make a solid point however.

Colin accounted for 409 of those yards, including 296 passing and 113 rushing, accompanied by 3 TDs. e during Colin’s 11. Career TD/Int Ratio: Colin has the 6th best ratio in NFL history among QBs with at least 70 TDs, directly ahead of Derek Carr (7th), Drew Brees (8th), and Matt Ryan (9th). Is Colin still good enough to play? Let’s provide some statistics to show Colin’s ability to play football at the highest level: Despite having to recover from three surgeries during 2016, Colin immediately started once healthy and was never beaten out by any other quarterback on the roster. 2016 progress in QB rating after coming back from injury: 66.4 - First 2 Games (Post-Injury) 93.6 - Next 5 Games 101.1 - Last 4 Games 2016 Stats (11 Starts) - 16 TDs/4Ints, 2,241 passing yards, 2 rushing TDs, and 468 rushing yards 2016 Stats (projected for 16 starts) - 23 TDs/5Ints, 3260 passing yards, 3 rushing TDs, and 680 rushing yards In his Week 12 start at Miami, he led the 49ers to 475 yards of total offense. Career Stats - 72 TD/30 INT, 12,271 passing yards, 13 rushing TDs, 2,300 rushing yards. Playoff Record - (4-2) including 1 Super Bowl appearance and 2 NFC Championship appearances In summary, it is difficult to think of another young player in NFL history with statistics and character as impressive as Colin’s not being given an opportunity to earn a spot on an NFL roster after what he has accomplished.

I'm a huge Colin Kaepernick fan and advocate, and in fact, I've boycotted the NFL since he got dogged by them, but I have to say, if he can still play at the highest level, after all this time away from that level of athleticism, he's a bonafide superhero. Which he just might be. But I'd be shocked. They took his career away from him. Remember, he was a yard or two away from being a champion. On that alone he should be signed and given an opportunity. But if any of this happens, I'll be surprised. Racism. Power. White supremacy. Finding more value in a stupid flag than human lives who are black. All a that makes this hard to buy into as any kind of legitimate. Like Wiley said, if it was real, he'd be signed already. I guess time will tell. I'm still boycotting. Until he's seen running out of an NFL tunnel, full gear, contract intact and guaranteed, and a little step forward toward some justice. At least in this case. At least a little bit. Sounds like a movie. Not real life. Until something like that happens, I don't believe in the NFL. I won't watch again unless that happens. Not that anyone involved in the NFL would care about what I do, or think, or feel, I'm not deluded like that, but hey, we all have to do what we think is right in our own little world. Anyway... We'll see.

Here’s the thing about Colin Kaepernick. As Deshaun Watson approved, if you can play lights out football, the NFL will forgive any sin. If Colin Kaepernick could play at that level, he would be on a team. Likewise, I do believe that if he wasn’t kneeling for the national anthem and playing at the same level he is now, he’d probably be on a team. Teams don’t like distractions. Look at Tim Tebow. In his first year out of the league, Kyle Orton was still playing. Tim Tebow replaced Orton on two occasions. In other words, Tim Tebow was better than a player who was still in the league. But nobody wanted to sign Tim Tebow because of the distraction he presented. If you are incredibly talented, a Gameday performer, and a distraction, the NFL will hire you. If you commit a crime and you are supremely talented, you will get a job. But if you are mediocre and a distraction? Not so much. That may not be right, but that is reality.
@RockWILK
@RockWILK 2 жыл бұрын
@@creativereality4212 I actually agree with you, but that's only because I think the ship sailed a long time ago with regards to Colin Kaepernick being a great quarterback in the NFL. He has certainly deserved a job all this time, but I can't imagine after all of this layoff, that he could just step on an NFL field and be a top-notch quarterback. But I agree with everything that you're saying, including Tim Tebow. Sadly, even in sports, politics and power play a huge role in what happens on the field. Or at least with regards to who gets on the field.
